The Dolomites of Val Badia Map and Itinerary

Arrive Starting Point: La Valle- Wengen

We recommend flying to Innsbruck or Verona, which have good rail and bus connections to Brunico from where you can take a taxi directly to La Valle/Wengen or take a bus to Pederoa and short taxi ride to La Valle. Travel time from Innsbruck by train and bus (3h), and Verona (4h40). Once you arrive in the mountainside village of La Valle/Wengen, settle into your accommodation then step outside and breathe in the fresh, crisp air . Soak up the extraordinarily beautiful and peaceful surroundings of the village and marvel at the majesty of the Dolomites.

DAY 2 Wengental Walk

Your first day of walking begins on the marvelous southern slopes of the Wengental amidst a landscape of gorgeous mountain peaks, inviting woods and inspiring flower meadows. As you walk, you will be filled with the energy of the stunning Alpine setting. The glorious panorama is sure to make you smile and unwind.

Walk: 10.5km | 500m Ascent/Descent | 5Hours

DAY 3 Gadertal and Mt. Groppa Walk

After a hearty breakfast, follow a cart track to the Gadertal and breathe in the wonderful mountain air. Enjoy a walk over the Mt. Gröpa ridge, amidst the pristine nature, and you may even cross paths with a few wild deer or chamois. While some of the tracks are steep, you will be rewarded with utterly breathtaking views.

Walk: 14.5km | 750m Ascent/Descent | 6.5Hours

DAY 4 Mt. Paresberg Walk

Today you have the chance to climb to the top of the striking Paresberg Mountain (2347m). On this exhilarating climb, you may find fascinating exposed fossils and unique high-altitude flora and fauna. As you travel up the slopes of this mountain, the view gets progressively more spellbinding. For an added thrill, take a short detour to the impressive Kreuzspitze Peak.

Walk: 13km | 700m Ascent/Descent | 6 Hours

DAY 5 Almentarawiesen and Kreuzkofelwand Walk

Experience paradise on foot as you walk through the flowery Almentarawiesen on a long walk to the wall of the Kreuzkofelwand and the Heiligkreuz mountain hut where you can stop for lunch and enjoy some of the delicious local specialties, including carne salada and polenta.

Walk: 14.5km | 750m Ascent/Descent | 7Hours

DAY 6 Anthonius-Josh to Fanes Walk

 Today you set off on an exciting 2 day hike and will need to prepare your overnight things to carry with you in your day pack. Climb up the Anthonius-joch (2466m) and on to the famed Fanes Mountain hut dating back toWorldWar I. Relax with a glass of wine on their scenic terrace.

Walk: 11.5km | 1100m /400m| Ascent/Descent/ 6 Hours

Overnight: Rifugio Fannes

The Fanes Hut is located in the Fanes- Senes Natural Park amidst the South Tyrolean Dolomites, offering a warm welcome and cheery atmosphere. Unchanged over the years your stay here is bound to leave an lasting memory.

DAY 7 Return to la Valle via Kreuzkofel

Walk across the gently undulating Fanes plateau past eye-catching caves towards the edge of the
Kreuzkofel group. Go over a steep pass amidst the magical scenery of dramatic rock formations and Dolomitic peaks, followed by a descent back to La Valle-Wengen. If you wish to shorten the walk by 3 km, take an alternate route past the picturesque Heiligkreuz mountain hut.
Walk: 21km | 600m/1300m| Ascent/Descent 8 Hours

DAY 8 Departure Day
