Self Guided Itineraries:
We have devised just two itineraries (West and East) which can be either walked as individual weeks or combined as a two week package.

Both CTCWEST and CTCEAST start with a first night stay in Kirkby Stephen.

If you are walking CTCWEST we transfer you to St Bees at 8:30 the next morning and after a dip in the sea - optional of course - you walk to Ennerdale Bridge for your overnight stay. You then continue east over the next few days and stay in Kirkby Stephen for your last night before travelling home the next day (unless continuing all the way to Robin Hood’s Bay).

If you are walking CTCEAST you start walking the next morning from Kirkby Stephen to Keld. Continuing east over the next few days you will arrive in Robin Hood’s Bay for your last night’s accommodation. The next morning we will transfer you back to Darlington to connect with rail services or for a supplement of £60 all the way to Kirkby Stepehn to pick up your car. (most other providers offer transfers from Robin Hood’s Bay at 15:30/16:00 which means you have either no time to congratulate yourself on your achievement or you have almost 24 hours to wait till the next day).

Code: CTCWEST (The Lake District)
Walking through the Lake District National Park is a wonderful experience. Although Grasmere can be a busy Lakeland village you will walk through some breathtaking scenery and will have long stretches of peaceful walking. The route divides up into easily manageable days for most walkers with the 20 mile day being a lot flatter than the previous days.

Day 1: Arrive & Overnight stay in Kirkby Stephen
Day 2: Transport (2 hrs) to St Bees at 8:30 am and then walk from St Bees to Ennerdale Bridge - 14 Miles
Day 3: Ennerdale Bridge to Rosthwaite - 14 Miles
Day 4: Rosthwaite to Grasmere - 10 Miles
Day 5: Grasmere to Patterdale- 10 Miles
Day 6: Patterdale to Shap - 16 Miles
Day 7: Shap to Kirkby Stephen - 20 Miles
Day 8: Travel home

Code: CTCEAST (The Yorkshire Moors)
You will walk through the Yorkshire Dales and Yorkshire Moors National Park’s on route to Robin Hood’s Bay. Although there are some long days near the end of the walk due to accommodation restrictions all are well within most walkers ability. The villages of Muker and Reeth are wonderful with their stone walls and English Tea Shops.

Day 1: Arrive & Overnight stay in Kirkby Stephen
Day 2: Kirkby Stephen to Keld- 13 Miles
Day 3: Keld to Reeth - 11Miles
Day 4: Reeth to Brompton - 16 Miles
Day 5: Brompton to Ingleby Cross - 18 Miles
Day 6: Ingleby Cross to Clay Bank Top - 12 Miles
Day 7: Clay Bank Top to Glaisdale - 19 Miles
Day 8: Glaisdale to Robin Hood’s Bay - 19 Miles
Day 9: Travel home with taxi transfer to either Darlington (Included in price) for train connection or Kirkby Stephen to pick up your car (£60 Supplement).

Complete the entire Coast to Coast over two weeks by combining the CTCWest and East. Enjoy the walk over 13 days and 14 nights.

Day 2 - 14: Walking the Coast to Coast as per above itineraries.

West to East:
Due to baggage transfer restrictions we can only offer this walk from West to East i.e. St Bees to Kirkby Stephen and/or Kirkby Stephen to Robin Hood’s Bay.

Additional Nights: (£40 per person sharing)
Many of our clients choose to add extra nights along the walk. Recommended places for additional nights include Grasmere, Patterdale and Reeth.
