Wainwright's Coast to
Coast - Self Guided Walking Holiday
This wonderful classic long distance trail of some 190 miles
was originally devised by Alfred Wainwright in 1972.
You will travel through the absolute best of the English countryside
through the National Park’s of the Lake District, Yorkshire
Dales and Yorkshire Moors. The scenery comprises of everything
good about England; lakes, mountains, rivers, quiet valley’s
and quaint English villages with their friendly tea shops and
pubs.
It can be very confusing arranging this magnificent walk on your
own but with our experience and just two well researched itineraries
you can be sure of a well planned and organised self guided walking
holiday. Both itineraries start with a first night overnight
stay in Kirkby Stephen.
Your holiday includes hand-picked overnight accommodation in
high quality B&B’s, country inns, and guesthouses (we
do not use hostels or bunkhouses), transfers to the start and
from
the end of the walk to Kirkby Stephen, daily door to
door baggage transfer, a comprehensive
guidebook, detailed map and information pack as well as emergency
telephone support.
Highlights:
•
Walking through the National Park’s of the Lake District,
Yorkshire Dales and Yorkshire Moors
• Picturesque Grasmere and Wordsworth Cottage
• Ullswater and a trip on the steamer
• Tea shops in the villages of Muker and Reeth in the Yorkshire
Dales
• Accommodation, baggage transfers, info packs and return transfers from
Kirkby Stephen all included.
•
Reaching the east coast at the spectacular village of Robin Hood’s
Bay
“ We were really pleased with all the
organisation, information pack, guide book and in particular,
delighted with
the accommodation
booked for us which suited us perfectly. Our luggage was always
there when we arrived and a welcome sight when tired and perhaps
rather wet. This is the first time I have done a long distance
walk with the support of a company and luggage carrier and I
would recommend Macs Adventure to others who I know are planning
a similar trip. So very many thanks!” Alison Johnston (UK)
“
Just wanted to say, what an amazing walk and holiday we all had.
Still speechless really. Absolutely amazing. Thanks for all the
information and assistance.” Pauline Roenisch, London
