Getting to Blair Atholl
Blair Atholl is 80 miles north of Edinburgh (Slightly further from Glasgow) on the main transport route through the highlands. By car the journey from Edinburgh takes 1.5 hours and Blair Atholl is well signed from the A9. The village also has excellent public transport connections and is served by First Scotrail trains and Citylink Bus services from Glasgow/Edinburgh to Inverness. By Air
Fly to either Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Edinburgh International Airport
Located a few miles north west of Edinburgh and with excellent transport links.

Glasgow International Airport
Located 8 miles south of Glasgow is served by routes from around Britain and the world. A regular shuttle service runs to the city centre. Visit their website for details of operators and routes.

Prestwick International Airport
Located 30 miles south of Glasgow prestwick is served primarily by Ryanair. A train service runs from Prestwick to Glasgow city centre. Note that this takes approx. 50 mintes so don't cut it too fine. Again their website has details of routes and operators.

By Rail
Glasgow and Edinburgh are served by several operators from throughout Britain. It is important to book as far in advance as possible to get the best fares. For information on all routes contact National Rail Enquires.

By Road
Glasgow and Edinburgh are served by an excellent motorway network. From both cities it is a pleasant two hour drive north to Blair Atholl.

Unsecure parking is available at the start and end of the walk.

A return taxi from Kinloch Rannoch to Blair Atholl will cost about £40.

Getting from Kinloch Rannoch:
Despite its remoteness Kinloch Rannoch is well served by public transport. Broons Buses and Taxis run to Rannoch Station (Trains to Glasgow and Fort William/Mallaig) and Pitlochry (Trains/buses to Inverness/Glasgow/Edinburgh/Blair Atholl).

By Private Transfer
We can arrange a private transfer to Blair Atholl or Pitlochry where you can connect with public transport or alternatively all the way back to Glasgow or Edinburgh. .

Pitlochry has a station and trains run regularly both north and south.
