Holiday Information
Accommodation:
One of the highlights of this tour is the high standard of the accommodation
you will enjoy. The hotels, inns and guesthouses we use are hand-picked to
ensure that you enjoy every minute of your stay. All offer a warm welcome to
walkers, traditional highland hospitality and delicious local food. We do recommend
that you book this trip early as the area is always popular and the hotels
and inns do fill up early, especially in high season. If we have to substitute
accommodation we will of course let you know and use accommodation of the same
of better standard.
Single Rooms:
This independent walking holiday is unfortunately not available to solo walkers
but if you require single rooms within your party we will of course try
to accommodate your request subject to availability. As all our holidays
are priced per person based on two sharing there is a single supplement
payable to cover the additional costs we incur.
Meals:
A full Scottish breakfast is included each morning while lunch and dinner are
not included so you are free to choose from the available options. Your
accommodation will more than happy to provide a packed lunch on request
and this can be booked on arrival, alternatively your info pack also includes
details of local shops and convenient lunch stops on the way. Dinner is
available either at your accommodation or nearby pubs and restaurants and
your info pack will of course have recommendations.
Baggage Transfer:
Your bags will be collected from your accommodation each day and moved onto
your overnight accommodation. We ask you to limit your luggage to one bag
of up to 15kg per person.
Holiday Grading & Suitability:
This holiday is graded easy to moderate and is suitable for most regular walkers.
The daily distance is between 5 and 15 miles so you can expect to walk for
between 3 and 7 hours each day. Most days have several options with longer
routes and optional hill days for the keen walker. The terrain consists of
riverside trails, minor roads and highland paths, most with very good surfaces.
(Only one short section is rough and untracked) The route is not waymarked
so the ability to follow directions and read a map is important.
Equipment:
Your information pack has a detailed suggested equipment list which includes
standard walking gear such as good walking boots or shoes, warm and waterproof
clothes and a day pack. You will also find a full list here.
Information Pack:
Your information pack includes detailed marked maps covering the whole route,
an in depth route description, advice and information on equipment, preparing
for the walk, travel information and suggestions on attractions, points
of interest and places to eat and drink.
Financial Security: Travel Organiser
Failure Cover:
In
compliance with the UK Package Travel, Package
Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992
