Getting to the Start of the Walk - Tarbert, Loch Fyne
Although Tarbert is only about 50 miles as the drow flies from Glasgow the road takes a circuitous, although very beautiful route via Loch Lomond and the total distance is just over 95 miles. If you are flying into Scotland Glasgow is the closect major airport and regular bus services to Campbeltown stop in Tarbert and take about 3 hours.

By Air
Glasgow is served by two international airports. Prestwick is 45 minutes south of Glasgow and if you are feeling adventurous you can catch the train to Ardrossan, ferry to Brodick, bus to Lochranza, ferry to Claonaig and bus to Tarbert - ideal if you are a beleiver in the journey rather than the destination. Alternatively connect via Glasgow.

Glasgow International Airport
Located 8 miles south of Glasgow is served by routes from around Britain and the world. A regular shuttle service runs to the city centre. Visit their website for details of operators and routes.

Prestwick International Airport
Located 30 miles south of Glasgow prestwick is served primarily by Ryanair. A train service runs from Prestwick to Glasgow city centre. Note that this takes approx. 50 mintes so don't cut it too fine. Again their website has details of routes and operators.

By Rail
Glasgow is served by several operators from throughout Britain. It is important to book as far in advance as possible to get the best fares. For information on all routes contact National Rail Enquires.

Kintyre is not served by a rail route.

By Road
Tarbert Loch Fyne is 3 hours from Glasgow by road. Take the A82 and the A83 signed to Campbeltown.

Free parking is available in Tarbert and you can catch a bus back to your car from the end of the walk.
