The Speyside Way - Climate & Area

Climate
Probably the most common question we are asked is "What will the weather be like?". Well, in Scotland the weather is certainly a talking point and as I like to say "If you don't like the weather wait 10 minutes."

We have a maritime climate and a not insubstantial amount of rain which gives us wonderful green glens, tumbling waterfalls and huge lochs. Despite this the summer is a wonderful time for walking with mild temperatures, lovely long days and not nearly as many rainy days as you would expect.

The Speyside Way is best walked between March and October. The most popular time of year is between April and September when the weather is at its best and all facilities are open.

The Spey Valley
The Spey Valley is an absolutely wonderful area of Scotland. It is blessed with spectacular scenery and fertile farming land which has ensured a long and fascinating history. It is particularly famous for it's many malt whisky distilleries so if you are a fan of the national tipple you will be in your element..

Walking through the Spey Valley at your own pace is the ideal way to discover this wonderful landscape and there are numerous other tourist attractions to keep you engaged throughout your time in the region.
