Getting to Buckie

By Air
Aberdeen and Inverness both have airports which are convenient for the Speyside Way or alternatively fl
y to either Edinburgh or Glasgow and catch the train or bus north..

Edinburgh International Airport
Located a few miles north west of Edinburgh and with excellent transport links.

Glasgow International Airport
Located 8 miles south of Glasgow is served by routes from around Britain and the world. A regular shuttle service runs to the city centre. Visit their website for details of operators and routes.

Prestwick International Airport
Located 30 miles south of Glasgow prestwick is served primarily by Ryanair. A train service runs from Prestwick to Glasgow city centre. Note that this takes approx. 50 mintes so don't cut it too fine. Again their website has details of routes and operators.

By Rail
If travelling via Inverness, a change of train to Keith (2 hours) and then a bus (35 mins) to Buckie is required.

If travelling via Aberdeen a change of train to Keith (1 hour 30 mins) and then a bus (35 mins) to Buckie is required.

From Aviemore to Inverness is 30 mins and to Edinburgh is 1 hour 30 mins.

By Road
Glasgow and Edinburgh are served by an excellent motorway network. From both cities it is a pleasant 3 hour drive north to Aviemore or 4 - 5 hour drive to Buckie.

Parking is available at the start and end of the walk in Buckie and Aviemore.
