West Highland Way - Self-guided Itineraries
A walking holiday on the West Highland Way offers something for everyone and as a West Highland Way specialist we offer a wide range of itineraries on the Way. Everything from a very leisurely 10 walking days to a short four day break covering the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.

Our most popular itineraries are WHW5 & WHW6 which cover the whole walk in 7and 8 walking days respectively.

You will find a detailed breakdown of each holiday we offer below. Additional nights can be added at any stage along the walk and we would be more than happy to tailor make an itinerary for you.

Recommendations:
Night in Milngavie: (£75 per room bed & breakfast)
Our itineraries which start in Milngavie do not include the night before you start walking in Milngavie. So if you are travelling to Glasgow we can book the night before you start walking at the Premier Inn at a cost of £75 per room for bed and breakfast.

Additional Nights: (£35pppn)
The western highlands are so spectacular that many of our clients decide to take an extra night along the way to spend some time enjoying the area. You might like to consider adding extra nights at Rowardennan to climb Ben Lomond, Crianlarich/Tyndrum/Bridge of Orchy to walk or catch the train to Oban or Kingshouse for the solitude and scenery.

Fort William Overnight (Ben Nevis): Ben Nevis stands at 1344m and as Britain's Highest Mountain has a strong draw. Why not add an extra night in Fort William so that you can tackle Ben Nevis.

Fewer Nights: If you plan to travel home on the day you finish the walk and don't need accommodation for the final night simply subtract £35pppn from our brochure prices. We will meet you to drop off your luggage when you arrive at the end of the walk.

POPULAR ITINERARIES
Code WHW4 WHW5 WHW6(B&B)/WHW9(Hotel)
6 Days/Nights 7 Day/Night 8 Day/Night
This 6 day option is ideal for those with less time looking for a challenging walk. Days 2, 3 and 5 are particularly challenging and this itinerary is aimed at those with previous long distance walking experience.
This is our most popular itinerary as it fits in perfectly to a weekd holiday and takes in overnight stops at the world famous Drovers Inn in Inverarnan and the KIngshouse on Rannoch Moor.
Another very popular itinerary which gives you more time to enjoy the mountain scenery on the northern part of the walk. (Oh, and it avoids the 18 miles day)

ALTERNATIVE ITINERARIES
Code WHW10 WHW11 WHW12
9 Days/Nights 10 Day/Night 5 Day/Night
A great way of really taking in the Scottish scenery and giving yourself time to unwind. Day 4 is still a tough day up Loch Lomond.
A relaxing itinerary which is well suited to adding addiitonal walking and sightseeing. The minimum group size is 4 due to the extra cost of delivering bags to Inversnaid.
Aimed at only the very fit this is a challenging walk. It leaves very little time for stopping and the days will generally involve 9-10 hours of walking per day. Previous experience of walking these distances is essential in order to enjoy your walk.

This itinerary gives you the feeling of having completed the walk and certainly takes in the best sections of the trail. You skip the first section to Drymen and the section from Inverarnan to Bridge of Orchy.
Beautiful walking in the empty highland glens with mountains all around you. A real get a way from it all experience.
Beautiful walking on the banks of tranquil east bank Loch Lomond finishing off with a night at The Drovers Inn.
