Ben Nevis stands at 1344m (4408ft)
on the West Coast of Scotland, a challenge in summer and a
true adventure in winter. Our Winter Ben Nevis Adventure aims
to get you to the summit of Britain’s Highest Mountain
in the depths of winter. Yes, the conditions are challenging
but this is more than compensated for by the outstanding views,
lack of crowds and true sense of adventure.
Your
weekend starts on Friday evening when we pickup from
Glasgow and travel to Fort William, stopping for dinner at the World
Famous Drover’s Inn on the way for dinner. Your overnight
accommodation is in good quality accommodation in Fort William.
Saturday is spent learning the skills
necessary for safe winter travel in the mountains. We catch the Nevis
Range Gondola to 2000ft on Aonach Mor
and your qualified winter mountain leader will spend the day
teaching and consolidating your winter skills. Ice axe arrest,
snow craft, safe winter travel and the use of crampons are
all covered. If we are lucky we might also be rewarded with
stunning views of the North Face of Ben Nevis.
On Sunday we tackle Ben Nevis, covered
in its winter mantle of snow and ice. We generally
use the mountain track route for the ascent and descent.
This awesome day sees us
top out at 4408ft on Ben Nevis in winter. An unforgettable
experience that few ever experience.
After an action packed weekend we travel
back to Glasgow on Sunday evening aiming to arrive no later than
19:30 so that you can travel home.

the final decision on whether to go ahead with an activity.
