National Geographic Traveller guidebook describes the Dingle Peninsula as “the most beautiful place on earth” and walking The Dingle Way allows you to immerse yourself in that raw beauty. This 65 mile trail takes you through hills clad in heather and abundant in wild flowers. You will be treated to sights of natural wonder as well as transported through time on this historical route.
Your trip begins in the village of Camp at the foot of the Slieve Mish mountains and follows the remarkable Dingle path round the rugged Atlantic coast to Cloghane. Your walk will take you past ruined castles and forts, Clochans or Beehive Huts which date back to 6000bc and a host of ancient standing stones. As spectacular as that is, it is nature which really excels on this walk. The route is littered with awe inspiring views of extensive mountain ranges, miles of soft white beach and rich glorious forest. The Dingle Way is an ideal escape from modern life, somewhere to relax into the easy pace of life in this glorious part of the world.
