A Glimpse of Everest Overview

Discover the Solu Khumbu, home of the Sherpa people and the gateway to Mount Everest on this trek into the spectacular Everest Region of the Nepal Himalaya. You will enjoy traditional Sherpa hospitality and incredible views of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks.

This trek is ideal if you have limited time available for trekking in the Everest region, only want to trek for a week or, you don’t want to trek to extremely high altitude. The trip includes seven days of superb trekking in the Solu Khumbu, where you will enjoy fabulous Himalayan views, and you will also spend four nights in Kathmandu.

Your adventure begins with two nights in Kathmandu, a vibrant and fascinating city, before you fly to Lukla to begin your trek. Your seven day trek follows the classic route to Everest Base Camp via Phakding and Namche Bazaar to your high point of Tengboche Monastery (3867m).

The views are spectacular throughout but the highlight of your trek will surely be the panorama from Tengboche, which includes views of some of the world's highest mountains including Ama Dablam (6,812m), Nuptse (7,855m), Lhotse (8,516m), Tamserku (6,623m) and Kantega (6,779m).

You return by the same route to Lukla, for the flight back to Kathmandu, where you spend your last two nights before flying home.

Highlights:

  • Spectacular mountain views of Everest and Ama Dablam.
  • Rich and welcoming Sherpa culture in the Solu Khumbu region.
  • High quality guest house and hotel accommodation.
  • Trekking amongst the world’s highest peaks.
  • Visiting Tengboche Monastery.
  • Tucking into hearty local food at the end of the day.
  • Exploring the vibrant streets of Kathmandu.
