Introductory Mountain Biking Course Essential Information

1 Day Introduction Mountain Bike

Recommended Clothing and Equipment

Mountain biking is a moderately equipment intensive sport and it is important that you are properly clothed and equipped. Hopefully this guide will help you in making the correct choices. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any further questions regarding equipment.

Mountain Bike

The key ingredient! We will be riding trails so your bike should be of reasonable quality, have at least front suspension, be well maintained and fit you correctly. Mountain bike hire is available from Macs Adventure and can be booked online as part of the booking process.

Helmet

A cycling helmet is required on all our courses and adventures.  If you hire a bike from ourselves we will provide a helmet with the bike hire.

Maintenance Kit

It is good practice to always carry basic spares. These should include; a spare tube, pump, puncture repair kit, tyre levers and ideally a multi-tool.

Cycling Clothing

The UK weather is not always kind and as your course will be taking place mainly outdoors please ensure that you have suitable clothing. This should include cycling shorts, cycle gloves/mitts and glasses, shoes/boots, a waterproof jacket and suitable warm clothing.

Water Bottle/Hydration

System Camelbak is the most popular hydration system on the market today and a small rucksack is very useful for carrying snacks and spare clothing. A water bottle is a good alternative.

Casual Clothing

Don’t forget to pack your change of clothes for when you finish the days activities.
