The team at Macs Adventure are dedicated to delivering adventure excellence. We are passionate about providing you with outstanding walking, trekking, cycling, mountain biking and discovery adventures throughout Scotland, the UK and the world.

I was driven to found Macs Adventure by a true passion for adventure travel and a love of wild places. I firmly believe that the very best way to discover a country, its landscape culture and people is under your own steam. So whether it's walking, trekking, mountain biking or cycling you will discover insights and have experiences that others simply do not enjoy. It is this philosophy and quest for excellence that underpins every adventure that we offer.
I have travelled extensively in Southern and East Africa, Australasia, Europe and Asia and spend my time walking, climbing, mountain biking and kite-surfing in Scotland and around the world. I have been professionally involved in teaching outdoor activities including sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing, mountain biking and walking for eleven years and am a business finance graduate. I currently live in Glasgow with my wife and son.

My passion is travel and I've been fortunate enough to visit and work in some great places around the globe. Scotland has always been home for me and I am very proud to be working and promoting Scottish walking holidays. I have worked in the travel industry for over 6 years mainly in STA Travel which gave me the experience and skills I have now.
I love adventure and meeting new people and some of my highlights have been trekking in Mexico, climbing Mount Kinabalu in Borneo, working in a cattle ranch in Oz and staying in an old Soviet Camp in Russia! When I'm not travelling I love running and getting involved in charity work.

I’ve travelled extensively and the only continent I am missing from my checklist is Antarctica. I have worked in the travel industry for 3 years, all of which has been with Kath in STA Travel. My passions are snowboarding and mountainbiking and seem to enjoy the sensation of coming down a mountain at speed, to going up one!

I am passionate about wild places and Scottish mountains. I have worked in various roles in the outdoor industry for 7 years and love to share the landscape and wildlife around me with others. I have the best job in the world!
When not leading groups in the hills I love to walk, scramble, rock climb and sea kayak. I have traveled extensively in Europe and beyond, but have found that there is nowhere quite like Scotland for sheer drama and beauty. I also care deeply about wildlife and conservation and enjoy watching otters and eagles at home on the isle of Arran.

Since 2005 my love of travel has become my job and it has been exhilarating to take groups out into Scotland and beyond and see places through new eyes.
With Scotland, even with personal ascents of all the mountains above 2500ft (Munros and Corbett), there are still so many places to visit and rediscover.
Further afield I have led walking and trekking groups in England, Spain, Italy, Austria, Peru and Southern Africa.
What do I do in my spare time? Travel of course!

With a lifetime's experience in the hills, I can make your mountain adventure come alive. Whether you want to learn new skills, discover new secrets, or just have a refreshing and relaxing break then I can help you. From my base in North West Scotland I'm perfectly placed to introduce you to new experiences in the Highlands or further afield.
As a qualified mountain leader and climbing instructor with over twenty years professional experience, you can be assured of a quality time with the emphasis firmly on fun, adventure and safety.
