Macs Adventure is a small, energetic company dedicated to delivering adventure excellence. We are passionate about delivering outstanding walking, mountain biking and group adventures throughout Scotland, England and Wales.

As active walkers and mountain bikers with a passion for travel we understand what makes for an unforgettable adventure. Great trails, breathtaking scenery, good-quality accommodation and a warm welcome all backed up by outstanding customer service.

We beleive every tour, adventure or course we offer delivers a world class experience. We personally research every trip, employ passionate leaders and take care of evey detail so that you can enjoy every minute of your trip.

The company is owned by Neil Lapping and he is supported by a great team who are proud of the outstanding level of service they offer to all our clients. Always happy to share their experience and irritatingly cheerful they are what makes Macs Adventure the success it is.

We are based in Glasgow, Scotland and operate a wide range of mountain biking, cycling, walking, climbing and adventure tours throughout Scotland, England and Wales.

The Team
Neil Lapping - Owner
Crazy enough to try and make a living from adventure travel and passionate about both travel and adventure. Past adventures include mountain biking, ice-climbing, walking, climbing, kite-surfing, windsurfing, surfing, wake-boarding, sailing, beer and plenty of travel.

Having taught a number of adventure sports and been involved in providing adventure travel experiences for a number of years Neil still escapes the office regularly to run walking and mountain biking adventures. Mostly he organizes great trips though!

Robin Powell - SMBLA Tutor
Robin is a professional outdoor instructor and a qualified SMBLA (Scottish Mountain Bike Leaders Award) Tutor. He is responsible for all our Trail Cycle Leader and Mountain Bike Leader Courses as well as running skills courses and pitching in on a few of our longer trips.

He has previously competed as an international runner and is now based in Newcastle where he can be spotted riding with his mad border collie.

Freelance Instructors
We also use a number of excellent freelance instuctors throughout the year. They are chosen for their knowledge of a specific area or discipline. Always highly qualified, filled with boundless enthusiasm and happy to share knowledge and beer.

Macs Adventure - Financial Security

Total Payment Protection (topp) Policy cover:
In compliance with the UK Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 an insurance policy has been arranged with Travel & General Insurance Company plc to protect customers’ prepayments paid in respect of
• non-flight inclusive packages commencing and returning to the UK
• the ground handling aspects of packages where the customer is responsible for arranging travel to the destination

offered in this brochure/literature/document/on this website (subject to the terms of the insurance policy), for: [delete as appropriate]
• a refund of such prepayments if customers have not yet travelled
• making arrangements to enable the holiday to continue if customers have already travelled or

in the unlikely event of our financial failure.

Macs Adventure - Environmental Awareness

We operate adventures in some of the most spectacular wilderness areas in Europe and try to operate in an environmentally aware and sustainable manner. We do this by

• Operating walking and biking adventures which are a low impact form of sustainable tourism. .
• Encourage the use of public transport for travel to or from our adventures by supplying detailed information on the services available.
• We operate small group adventures (maximum 10) which minimize the impact on the environment and other users
• We support local business by buying local and using locally owned accommodation and services.
• We encourage the use of Carbon Offsetting. Travel does have a hidden cost. Air Travel produces an inordinate amount of Carbon Dioxide emmisions which contribute to climate change.
