All
our mountain biking adventures are graded from 1 to 5 in
order to give you an idea of the level of experience and fitness you
will need to participate.
These should only be used as a rough guideline as
there are many variables such as weather conditions, time of year
and whether the trip is guided or self guided that have an impact.
Grade One

Generally good trails and paths but
with more frequent narrow sections and technical ascents
and descents. Distances of up to 25 miles per day.

Prior mountain biking experience necessary and
to get the most from the trip you should have done some training
prior to the trip.

Frequent technical sections with
substantial ascent and descent on demanding trails. Distances
of between 25 and 40 miles per day.

Fitness
|
A good level of mountain biking fitness and skills
required. We strongly recommend doing some 30 mile training circuits.

Rough trails and steep ascents and
descents. Highly technical ascents and descents. Distances vary
but may be as much as 50 miles per day.

Fitness
|
Regular and fit mountain bikers only with good
technical skills.

Notes:
Self-guided skills: Some of our adventures
are available as self-guided holidays. As well as your technical mountain
biking skills you should also be able to navigate with the help of
compass, map and route description.
