Duration: Seven days and six nights
Distance: Varies depending on trails ridden.
Grade: Varies depending on trails ridden, generally
three to five.
Fitness: Moderate.
You should get out regularly to properly prepare for this trip. If
you are looking to ride the most challenging trails you should be in
very good physical condition.
Suited To: To get the
most from this week you should be a keen mountain biker looking to ride
the best trails in Britain and improve your riding significantly. You should
of course also have a sense of humour.
This trip is in
fact the most flexible of all the trips we offer as at every venue their
is a choice of graded trails to ride, great for couples or friends of different
abilities.

Availability: Year round on selected dates
Accommodation: Carefully selected, B&B Accommodation.
Equipment: Bikes or personal equipment is not included in the price
of this adventure. You will need a reliable mountain bike with at
least
front suspension. On booking we will send you a comprehensive equipment
list. We can also arrange bike hire.
Cost: £440 per person sharing
Included: Seven days guided
mountain biking, six nights B&B accommodation, vehicle support,
packed lunches, daily door-to-door baggage transfer, return transfers
from
Glasgow and transfers as required during the trip.
Excluded: Travel insurance, bike hire, personal
equipment, evening meals, snacks or drinks.
Highlights: Riding the best trails in
Britain, The Slab at Dalbeattie, The Helly Hansen V Trail, coffee at
The Hub, more singletrack, berms, jumps and fun than you would have
ever thought possible.
Itinerary: Please note that this is

Day 1: Mabie
o 9:00 – Meet in Glasgow and load vehicles.
o Travel to Mabie (near Dumfries)
o Briefing/Outline for week
o Riding at Mabie
o 17:00 - Pack up and travel to Newton Stewart
o Overnight Newton Stewart
Day 2: Kirroughtree Forest
o An awesome day riding this fantastic venue which has trails to suit
every ability.
o Overnight Newton Stewart
Day 3: Glentrool
o Long and strong with awesome views.
o We explore the less technical riding of Glentrool.
o A 50km circuit of the Galloway Forest Park.
o Awesome views, the south of Scotland’s highest mountain and all
round ace day.
o Overnight Newton Stewart
Day 4: Dalbeattie and Ae
o The morning sees us head for Dalbeattie, a fantastic granite landscape
which has something for everyone.
o The Slab and Terrible Twins will have even the most skilled riders
begging for more.
o Grab lunch – rest those weary legs as we head for Ae
o Ae is the Seven Stanes most recent red trail as is sure to have every
trick and twist that these expert trail riders can throw at us.
o It also has one of the best downhills in the country for those full-bounce
heads.
o Overnight Dumfries
Day 5: Newcastleton and Glentress
o We head of to Newcastleton in the morning to sample the fairly low
key riding of this beautiful area. A couple of blues and a fun red
keep us out of trouble for a few hours.
o After lunch we pack up and head for Glentress. Arriving late afternoon
we have some time to play on the range of trails, don’t overdo
it though because we have two huge days ahead.
Day 6: Tweed Valley – Glentress
and Innerleithen
o Welcome to the spiritual home of singletrack riding in Scotland.
o Rated as the best riding in Scotland by singletrack magazine the next
two days will leave you grinning from ear to ear.
o Morning – Glentress – for intermediate/advanced riders
the red route serves as the perfect introduction to the delights in store.
o After lunch at the Hub we head five minutes down the road to Innerleithen.
o The recently opened Traquair XC will challenge most riders and serves
as the perfect stepping stone to the challenges of the Helly Hansen V
Trail which lies ahead.
o Overnight Peebles or Innerleithen.
Day 7: Glentress
o The perfect end to the perfect week.
o Intermediate/advanced riders will relish the excitement of the Helly
Hansen V Trail, voted two years running as the best singletrack trail
in Britain by singletrack magazine.
o Beginner/intermediates will appreciate the improvement after loving
the thrills of the Glentress red Route.
o 16:00 – Pack up
o 18:00 – Arrive back in Glasgow after a fantastic week.
Getting There/Away:
Glasgow is Scotland's biggest transport hub and is served by two airports,
rail and bus links. Our pickup point is in central Glasgow and if you
are staying in central Glasgow we can normally arrange collection from
your accommodation by prior arrangement. Our travel page has further
details.
If you are driving you can either meet us in Glasgow or alternatively
if you prefer we can meet you in Dumfries on the first day.
