Tweed Valley Skills & Singletrack Itinerary and Info

Detailed Itineraries
Every weekend is different and your guide will of course structure the riding to suit the group. The following itineraries serve as a very good indication of what is involved but may change. All itineraries offer a combination of guided and self-guided riding.

The Daily Program:

Most days you will meet your guide at 10:00am and ride until 16:00, finishing with a debrief and coffee. We generally have a packed lunch on the trail. Every group is different and your instructor will use his knowledge and experience to ensure that the program meets your needs as closely as possible.

Your accommodation is available to check into from mid-afternoon. Take some time to unpack your bikes, enjoy a stroll along the River Tweed or explore some of the areas fascinating history.

Day 2: Skills Development, Glentress
Your friendly mountain bike instructor will meet you at Glentress at 10am. Over a cup of coffee they will discuss your current riding level, aims,
hang-ups and favourite type of riding, coming up with a plan for the next few days. Initially you will probably work in the skills loop and then spend most of the day riding a range of trails in Glentress Forest.
Hopefully wrapping up your first day at about 4pm, brimming with confidence and itching to get back on your bike in the morning.

Day 3: Guided Riding & Coaching, Glentress & Tweed Valley
Today is less skills based and more focussed on enjoying the areas’ fabulous trails. Your guide will show you the best of the Tweed Valley natural and manmade trails while giving personal skills coaching where necessary. This is a powerful combination that builds confidence and guarantees huge smiles all round. Your guide will finish off by going through some ride suggestions for the next few days of independent riding.

Day 4: Independent Riding: Tweed Valley
You are on your own today, armed with some suggested rides and your trail guide you are free to ride as much or as little as you wish. Popular rides include a wonderful ride down the Gypsy Glen and high above the valley. Another popular alternative is the second manmade centre of Innerleithen which offers challenging riding for the more advanced rider.

Day 5: Independent Riding: Tweed Valley
Time to enjoy a final day of independent riding on the fantastic trails of Glentress and Innerleithen or perhaps the natural trails of the Tweed Valley. . You are guaranteed to finish the day absolutely exhausted and grinning from ear to ear. Travel home after finishing the days riding.
