Detailed Itineraries
Every weekend is different and your guide will of course structure
the riding to suit the group. The following itineraries serve
as a very good indication of what is involved but may change. All
itineraries offer a combination of guided and self-guided riding.
The Daily Program:
Most days you will meet your guide at 10:00am and ride until 16:00, finishing
with a debrief and coffee. We generally have a packed lunch on the trail. Every
group is different and your instructor will use his knowledge and experience
to ensure that the program meets your needs as closely as possible.

Day 1: Travel to Peebles
Peebles is 30 minutes south of Edinburgh in the Scottish Borders
and is a peaceful picturesque market town that has received an
adrenalin injection from the local mountain biking scene.
Your accommodation is available to check into from mid-afternoon.
Take some time to unpack your bikes, enjoy a stroll along the
River Tweed or explore some of the areas fascinating history.
Day 2: Skills Development, Glentress
Your friendly mountain bike instructor will meet you at Glentress
at 10am. Over a cup of coffee they will discuss your current
riding level, aims,
hang-ups and favourite type of riding, coming up with a plan
for the next few days. Initially you will probably work in
the skills loop and then spend most of the day riding a range
of trails in Glentress Forest.
Hopefully wrapping up your first day at about 4pm, brimming
with confidence and itching to get back on your bike in the
morning.
Day 3: Guided Riding & Coaching, Glentress & Tweed
Valley
Today is less skills based and more focussed on enjoying
the areas’ fabulous trails. Your guide will show you
the best of the Tweed Valley natural and manmade trails while
giving personal skills coaching where necessary. This is
a powerful combination that builds confidence and guarantees
huge smiles all round. Your guide will finish off by going
through some ride suggestions for the next few days of independent
riding.
Day 4: Independent Riding: Tweed Valley
You are on your own today, armed with some suggested rides
and your trail guide you are free to ride as much or as
little as you wish. Popular rides include a wonderful ride
down the Gypsy Glen and high above the valley. Another
popular alternative is the second manmade centre of Innerleithen
which offers challenging riding for the more advanced rider.
Day 5: Independent Riding: Tweed Valley
Time to enjoy a final day of independent riding on the fantastic
trails of Glentress and Innerleithen or perhaps the natural
trails of the Tweed Valley. . You are guaranteed to finish
the day absolutely exhausted and grinning from ear to ear.
Travel home after finishing the days riding.

As for TVS1 with one less day of independent riding, perfect
for bank holiday weekends or sneaking a Friday off work.

TVS3: Tweed Valley Skills & Singletrack
Only one day of guided riding and skills development followed
by two days of independent riding in the Tweed Valley. Very
popular with groups looking for an introduction to the valley.

Availability:
Our weekend breaks are very popular so it is best to book
as far in advance as you are able to. Up to date availability
and dates of scheduled trips are available here.
Private Groups:
These weekend breaks are available on any date throughout
the year for private groups of 4 or more riders. So get your
mates together and give us a shout to sort out your weekend
of mountain bike heaven.
Included in Price:
Accommodation including breakfast and guided mountain biking
as specified in itinerary, info pack and trail guidebook
for self-guided independent riding.
Excluded:
Travel insurance, travel to the venue, lunches, snacks, drinks,
bike hire.
Accommodation:
You will stay in comfortable guesthouse, country inn or small
hotel accommodation in Peebles in ensuite rooms. All the
accommodation we use is carefully selected and "mountain
bike Friendly", they don't throw you out if you arrive
covered in mud from head to toe, have secure bike storage
and normally have bike wash and drying facilities. More..
Grading & Suitability
This holiday is graded intermediate so you should be a regular
mountain biker looking to improve and enjoy some great riding.
Rides are at a comfortable pace and we don’t leave
people behind.
Navigation
Your guide will navigate during guided days. The natural
routes are not waymarked so you should be able to use a map
and compass if you wish to ride natural trails independently.
Manmade centres are waymarked.
Travel Information:
Getting to/from Peebles
Peebles is 20 miles south of Edinburgh in the Scottish Borders
(40 minutes by car) and most easily accessed by car. Buses
are available from Edinburgh but they do not generally take
bikes. There is no train service.
Edinburgh Airport/Station Transfers
We can organise Edinburgh Airport/Station Transfers for a
cost of £65 each way for a group of up to 4 with bikes
and 8 without bikes.
Getting to/from the Trails
The trails are all a short ride from Peebles so you don’t
need transport during the weekend.
Equipment:
A mountain bike in good condition is essential. Most riders
prefer riding a XC type bike although everything from a hard
tail to all mountain will be fine. Your info pack has a detailed
suggested equipment list which includes standard mountain
biking gear such as helmet, cycling clothes, warm and waterproof
clothes and a day pack.
Bike Hire:
Bike Hire is available locally from The Hub in the Forest.
Information Pack:
Your information pack includes all the information you will
require before joining the trip.
