Multi Activity Scotland Map and Itinerary
Multi Activity Scotland Tour Detailed Itinerary
Code: DSSMAT Days: 6 Nights: 5
See the very best of Scotland differently on this exciting multi-activity tour of Scotland. An inspiring tour of Scotland that includes walking, sea kayaking, mountain biking and rafting as well as the other “must sees” of the highlands.
Grade
This tour is graded moderate as you will be enjoying plenty of outdoor activity in the Scottish Highlands. You don’t need any previous experience but you should enjoy a reasonable level of fitness and an active lifestyle.
DAY 1 Arrive & Travel to Oban
Arrive in Glasgow or Edinburgh, collect your hire car if necessary, and head West to the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. Enjoy a relaxed walk on the banks of Loch Lomond before heading to the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar for lunch (not included).
After lunch continue north through the majestic scenery of the Western Highlands to reach your days destination of Oban. A bustling town situated on a picturesque natural harbour.
Overnight Oban/Connell Bridge
After a busy day check into your hand picked accommodation and enjoy a great meal at one of local restaurants known for their excellent seafood.
DAY 2 West Coast Sea Kayaking
The west coast of Scotland is a world class sea kayaking destination. At 9:00am you meet your guide, get kitted up and hit the water for an unforgettable day of sea kayaking. You will kayak through breathtaking scenery, past castles and small islands. It is also the best way to see wildlife and you should see seals, birds and hopefully otters.
Your trip will give you a unique insight into the beauty and tranquillity of Scotland’s West Coast.
Overnight Oban/Connell Bridge
After a fantastic day on the water it’s straight into a hot shower and you can enjoy a relaxed evening.
DAY 3 Climb Ben Nevis
After breakfast head north past Glencoe to Ben Nevis, Scotland’s highest mountain. Climbing Ben Nevis via the Mountain Track is straightforward for those with a hill walking experience. The climb takes 7—9 hours return.
If your navigation is not up to scratch or the weather is not playing ball there are numerous low level walks to enjoy locally. Fort William also has many other attractions if you prefer a more relaxed day.
Overnight Fort William
Fort William is the UK’s Outdoor Capital and always buzzing. You can choose from several good restaurants and pubs for dinner.
DAY 4 Walking on the Small Isles
After the non-stop action of the past few days today is a bit more relaxed. Drive the scenic “Road to the Isles” past Arisaig and the sands of Morar to Mallaig where we catch the ferry to the Small Isles.
Eigg, Mucka and Rum all offer outstanding wildlife and walking. Which island you choose will depend on the ferry timetable. Ferry does not run on Sundays. The afternoon ferry brings you back to Mallaig and we return to Fort William for a second night.
Overnight Fort William
DAY 5 Mountain Biking in The Cairngorms National Park
From Fort William you head east to Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire, stopping at the awesome Laggan Wolftrax mountain biking centre. The biking is challenging but unforgettable, for those who prefer gentler biking you can bike from Pitlochry on easier trails.
On the we suggest you visit Dalwhinnie Distillery and Blair Castle. Your overnight stop is the pretty town of Pitlochry.
Overnight Pitlochry
Pitlochry is a busy little town with plenty to see and do as well as some lovely walks to enjoy.
DAY 6 Rafting in Highland Perthshire
End your tour on an adrenalin high with a half day white water rafting of Scotland's wild rivers before driving south to Edinburgh or Glasgow where your tour ends. If you would prefer something a little less exciting we have a range of alternative activities available near Pitlochry. This brings an incredible five days of adventure in the Scottish Highlands to an end!
