The yellow hills of Tuscany Cycling on a quiet road in Tuscany The Towers of San Gimignano The famous cheeses of Tuscany Endless vistas of cypress tree lined strada bianchi

San Gimignano & Chianti Cycling Holiday

Unearth the very best of Chianti on two wheels: fields of sunflowers, cypress lined roads, medieval towns, the fourteen towers of San Gimignano, the finest wine and the most delicious olive oil. This cycling holiday in Tuscany will delight all the senses.

You will be staying at a wonderful Tuscan estate, just outside San Gimignano, which produces its own wine and olive oil. Each day you set off to discover the delights of Chianti on your bike; Roman and Etruscan sites, boutique vineyards, olive oil producers, cypress lined roads and perfect Tuscan countryside.

Cycling in Tuscany will live up to all your dreams. Cycle on quiet roads over rolling hills through the heart of Tuscany. Perhaps stopping for a long lunch at a local vineyard, medieval town or just a roadside field where you can kick back and enjoy a afternoon snooze.

Each day’s cycle explores a different part of Chianti. The daily distance varies between 22 and 42 kilometres, with extensions to 67 kilometres possible. The riding is graded moderate to strenuous and there is between 500 & 1000m of climbing each day due to the rolling terrain.

You can choose either an 8 day holiday or 5 day short break. Both are based at a wonderfully situated wine and olive oil producing estate just outside San Gimignano. So whether you choose our eight day cycling holiday or five day short break, you will leave promising to come back soon.

Highlights:

  • The 14 medieval towers and cultural treasures San Gimignano.
  • Spellbinding views of the perfectly formed Tuscan landscape.
  • Authentic food, welcomes and accommodation on a Tuscan Estate
  • Enjoying a glass of Vernaccia di San Gimignano at the pool.
  • Great cycling routes through beautiful Chianti
