Hi Paul,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
Five days is the absolute minimum and even if you are fairly fit I would suggest that you allow six days to walk the full 95 miles of the west highland way.
If you are looking for cheap accommodation hostels are indeed the best option and there are hostels or bunkhouses in Rowardennan, Inversnaid, Crianlarich, Tyndrum, Bridge of Orchy, Kinlochleven and Fort William. You can get good quality B&B or Inn accommodation at the other locations.
Whatever you do try not to plan on walking more than about 20 miles per day and have a great time. You will love the west highland way.
If you fancy a bit more comfort and would like us to do all the hard work of planning and booking your holiday please do just give us a shout.
Cheers and have a great time.

Never really done a lot of 'walking' but im a fairly fit 35 year old man.
Would like to try the west highland way. Plan is to enjoy the walks and scenery through the day then rest up in cheap accomodation (hostels?) and be able to enjoy a meal and pint or two in the evening.
Was thinking 4 or 5 days worth so the whole walk (95miles) is out of the question.
I will obviously be starting from Milngavie but any suggestion where I could finish?
If you feel I need to do all the walk or more than I am suggesting please feel free to say so.
Thanks, Paul
