New Walk: Camino de Santiago Le Puy Route
We are chuffed to announce the launch of the Le Puy Route of the Camino de Santiago from Le Puy to St Jean Pied de Port through the south of France. Its been a few years since we added the hugely popular Camino de Santiago from St Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela to our walking programme. Since then we have arranged hundreds of trips on the Camino and the reviews have been fantastic. BUT, we have been inundated with requests for the Camino De Santiago Le Puy Route from Le Puy to St Jean Pied de Port through Southern France. The Le Puy Route is the second most popular Camino Route and has become more so since the Camino Frances has become very busy. This follows the release of several books and the Martin Sheen movie The Way. The French Camino from Le Puy to St Jean Pied de Port follows the GR65 and stretches to over 770km. It may sound like a long way but the good news is that the Le Puy Route of the Camino winds through some of the most beautiful countryside in rural France. You will visit towering cathedrals, charming villages, sleepy hamlets and numerous religious and historical sites. More importantly after walking each day, you will have a very good excuse to indulge in the authentic food and wine which make this region of France such a delight to walk through. We offer the Camino Le Puy Route in six sections of about a week. These can be walked individually or combined to cover anything up to the entire route depending on how much time you have. The dedicated pilgrim can even continue onto Santiago de Compostela when you reach St Jean Pied de Port, making for a pilgrimage of around 80 Days. (Sounds tempting to me!) Our self guided walking tours on the Le Puy Camino include carefully selected accommodation in small hotels, auberges and gites where you will have a private room each night, normally with attached bath. Accommodation is on a half board basis so you will only need to worry about sorting out lunch each day. Daily door to door baggage transfer is included, as is a detailed information pack, maps and emergency support from our locally based reps. This means you can just relax and enjoy every step of our Camino through France. We are really excited about this new trip so please don't hesitate to contact our specialists, who would be more than happy to give you all the information you need and book your adventure on the Camino de Santiago from Le Puy to St Jean.
