Comments about A Long Walk on the Isle of Skye Walking Holiday :
It was a good trip but I have one complaint. We had been scheduled to stay at the Duntulm Castle Hotel, Duntulm, on the last day of our trip on Sept 13. But when we got there we were told by the owner that the reservation had been cancelled months ago. Our accommodation had been changed to Flodigarry.

Comments about A Long Walk on the Isle of Skye Walking Holiday :
Well, what can I say apart from truly fantastic! Ok 4 days out of 7 were rather tedious weather wise but that did not detract from the whole experience. The B&B’s were brilliant and the hosts very friendly and accommodating. The walks were fabulous and thankfully we had a fantastic day on the Trotternish Ridge! One word of advice -when there is a howling wind and it is raining don’t attempt the Quiraing-Flodigarry walk. We did and it was totally hair raising as the path is small, meandering and exposed in places.
The Isle of Skye will truly amaze you and you will not want to leave. MacsAdventure will make sure your holiday runs smoothly. They are well organized and all the information they provide is easy to follow. Brilliant service and superb holiday. Go for it, you won’t regret it!!!

Comments about A Long Walk on the Isle of Skye Walking Holiday :
It was the best walk we ever made. Well organized, a fantastic trail through wild landscapes, over mountains, ridges with breathtaking views and through lonely valleys. The weather was always changing from minute to minute showing interesting light effects. The feared midges were not really a problem, although we saw locals equipped with a net over the head. We met many friendly people who helped us to spend wonderful holidays and to understand the local peculiarities. I think to enjoy the hike it is necessary to have a middle fitness level. You don“t need a special training. We are people in the sixties who are used to walk in the Alps at weekend.

Comments about A Long Walk on the Isle of Skye Walking Holiday :
best walk was the day from Elgol (boat to Loch Coruisk) then up and over to Sligachan with fantastic vistas of the Black and Red Cuillins. Once at the “Slig”, the front lounge is a wonderful place to sit back, enjoy the grand views and relax with a whiskey. We had one bad weather day with lots of wind and rain that caused us to abandon the Trottenish Ridge walk. Bus to Uig and walking the track over to Staffin was a good fallback. Final day walk to Duntolm we took onwards to the north cape tip. Brilliant coastal walk is possible back east along the cliffs towards Aird, then over the fields to Aird and back to Flodigarry on the main road.Ardvasar Hotel is charming and great service, as is the “Slig”.No slip ups in any of the organisation…well done [@]

Comments about A Long Walk on the Isle of Skye Walking Holiday :
the walk from old man of store to Quiraing is just too big and hard in relation to the other moderate trips.

Your traveldiscriptions and maps are very good and detailled, thank you and we even really missed the midges!

Great accomodations – the flodigerry hotel is a highlight!

I go with them again!

Comments about A Long Walk on the Isle of Skye Walking Holiday :
- Macs are perfect for anybody who wants to do great holidays but doesn’t want to invest tens of hours in organization
- accommodation was great, some hosts were ok, some great and some I have invited to my house cause they were really really awesome. but always cozy room, warm shower, soft bed and rich breakfast
- organization was perfect, really didn’t need to take care about anything, just enjoying my holidays
- however, sometimes it was even too much organization for me – after the treks there were arranged exact time for pick-ups which is little bit tricky as it is really hard to estimate the time needed to finish (sometimes wheatear is bad, sometimes views are beautiful), its just easier to arrange it with the taxi driver directly
- its worth read precisely all the emails you get at the beginning – we didn’t at it caused a lot of confusion, maybe briefer info would come handy
- the tracks description was perfect and very useful. I miss just two small things – The Small & Cosy Teahouse in Staffin – which is just perfect place for relax and Cafe on the beach in Torrin which could be a really nice surprise after the the long trek (especially in this deserted county)
- overall it was the best holidays i have ever had, i have already recommended you to my friends, and definitely join you again for another holidays

Not my first experience with self-guided walking in Scotland, but certainly the most challenging and rewarding. Natural beauty, historical sites, amidst the silence and magic of being in an unspoiled environment, prompt me to revisit this special place in the near future.

Comments about A Long Walk on the Isle of Skye Walking Holiday :
Our long walk on the Isle of Skye was well organized. Our bags were always where they were supposed to be, the transportation always turned up on time, the accomidations were always ready and expecting us and the directions for each day were clear so that we never got lost and always had a good idea what to expect. Skye itself is very scenic and hiking is the best way to see all of the natural wonder the island has to offer. If you like night life this is not the vacation for you, most of the towns are very small and have few shops if any but the accomidations were always clean and friendly and every town you stay in has at least a few restaurants for you to have your evening meal at. My husband and i really enjoyed our trip and would recommend it to anyone who likes the outdoors and does not mind doing a little bit of hard work on there holiday. My one suggestion is to arrange your transportation off of the island early to save yourself some time and money in the end of your vacation. Thanks again for a great vacation.
