Local Scots were extremely helpful throughout my trip. No problems at all with directions, finding places to eat, sightseeing, etc., all along the Way. Macs had organized details very well. (Never ceased to amaze me how my luggage arrived each night, for example.) Truly hassle-free. Can’t recommend Macs enough.

Easy walk with such good waymarking you only need a glance at the guide, so no fiddling around with maps. Stunning medieval abbeys, so take enough time to visit. Good area for birdwatching too. We split the long day, but could easily have managed the full 16 miles in one go. Accommodation excellent, and our specific requirements were all met. Macs are definitely a “can do” company. There were a couple of occasions when the guide was different to the route but not so bad that I got lost. Somethings need to be checked out and updated – eg forestry which has been felled or planted and not shown in the guide. Accomodation excellent but after a long day it is even better if an evening meal could be provided.
