Our trip was customized for us. Macs Adventure were very attentive to detail, made us a great itinerary,[...]The B and B’s where we stayed were both outstanding.

This walk exceeded our expectations. The scenery was truly amazing, with the variation of walking through farmland, villages, alongside rivers and lakes, oakland woods, pikes and fells, all gorgeous in sunshine and heavy rain.Tip! Don’t underestimate the fitness required. We consider ourselves fit, but couldn’t have walked further! If/when we revisit the lakes,we would definitely include rest days at our three favourite places, Langdale Valley (Dungeon Gill), Tarn Hows (staying at Elterwater and the beautiful Caldbeck.
We did not get lost, but would have without “The Book”! THe accommodation was all great, some outstanding,Dungeon Gill for location, and Langleigh House in Carlisle for the greatest welcome from the owners/and beauiful dogs, after a hard days walk, stunning house and a breakfast to return for.Thank you Macs for a memorable holiday.

Comments about Cumbria Way :
A walk through the Lake District is exactly what this is. My knowledge of this area is from nearly 30 years ago, so I thought the Cumbria way was a good way to re-acquaint myself without going to the summits. My level of fitness was average so I took the 6 day option, and it was a very enjoyable experience.
The accommodation was wonderful, and my favourite was the hotel in Rosthwaite which had afternoon tea ready for me, and the luxury, sheer luxury of a private BATHroom.
I took the high option on day 5, and it was well worth it. I came away with a great sense of personal achievement, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Completed this walk on the 9th of April 2010. Walked with my sister and a friend. We Split the distance into 6 days , some how even finding time to climb to the top of Cats Bells on our way to Keswick. Our accommodation was spot on through out ,ranging from a recently refurbished 3 bed room at the New Dungeon Ghyll to a B&B in Stonethwaite where the land lady whipped all our wet gear away – including drenched boots- returning all the next day bone dry . Our luggage was waiting for us each night at our next destination. Tips : Don,t under estimate how far 70 miles is , once you start climbing this really slows the pace down. The Weather ! We had a couple of rainy days and used our compasses on high ground. We also smeared our feet in vaseline and wore good quality socks. luckily no blisters. Laura at macs adventures was a good help in planning the trip. our walk fell over Easter , but she managed to find us rooms for the night that we could walk to, which was important to us. A beautiful walk which i would highly recommend . We are certainly planning to go on another one.

We had a very nice trip (cumbria walk) week 27 – 2010 – a little rain 1+½ day, but we were preprared for that. The company Macs seem very well-organized. Answering mails very quickly – sending good information on time. In Cumbria everything worked fine with luggage.. super. They places we stayed were fine – a little different all of them, but friendliness all the way round. Ex.:one of the B+B places lend us 2 bicycles of their own.. The royal Oak hotel, Rostwaite was an unexpected positive surprise to visit. We won’t hesitate to recommend Macsadventure for others. Margit & Jens , Sdr. Bjert Denmark.

Comments about Cumbria Way :
This trip was so well organized. There were no glitches. Our luggage arrived at every location, our B & B owners were expecting us, and even the taxi showed up right on time. It made the trip so much more enjoyable and stress free knowing these important details were taken care of.
Went in late August: no bugs, perfect weather, only drizzled one day, and never humid, bracken changing color to red, heather still purple, blackberries ripe and ate berries all along the way.
I was amazed by the incredible scenery and vistas. Every day revealed new wonders. It was truly breathtaking. It was amazing to walk along footpaths through pastures with sheep and cows, over mountain passages, through valleys and woodlands, and people’s back yards.
This trip is not to be missed. It is outstanding. It surpassed all my expectations.

We were a group of eight so it created some logistics for Macs. Congrats to Laura for the way she organised the accommodation and followed up a missing charger which she had mailed promptly to Australia. We would certainly recommend Macs and will use them again.
