Comments about Cumbria Way Walking Holiday :
We expected the walk to be challenging and it really was. The length of most of the days moreso than the terrain took its toll but well worth the effort. Accommodation was friendly and welcoming. Big thanks to Lucy at Rosthwaite for drying our boots! I would recommend Macsadventure to anyone attempting the Cumbria Way. Luggage transfer was great and guidebook was clear. Map also came in very useful when there were detours on the route. Only downside was a detour which lead us onto an a road with no path for 2 miles, very dangerous.

The Lakes !! It rains, guess thats where the water comes from !!Wonderful scenery combination of hard exhausting walking and easier going. Accomodation good Dungeon Gill Hotel great releif after a very very wet day. Take your waterproofs, get ready for some superb walking especially good to explore the northern lake region. [...] Good value for money and a very good trip. Not the usual tracks so well worth a hike..

Comments about Cumbria Way Walking Holiday :
my husband and i had a wonderful six days walking ‘the cumbria way’ it was quite hard going but the views and wildlife more than compensated for the effort! the accommodation was varied and comfortable, all the hosts were so very friendly and made us feel welcome. we stayed at no 31 in carlisle, it was an amazing house that has to be seen to be appreciated!! the swaledale watch in caldbeck was also a favourite, so peaceful and they even had swallows nesting in the porch! everything was well organised by ‘macs’ great service. thanks for a fantastic holiday.

Comments about Cumbria Way Walking Holiday :
A great trip through the heart of lakeland. The weather was not at it’s best while we were on holiday – but that just added to the experience.

The one day we had really bad weather Macs were there checking up that we were OK and able to get to our next night’s accommodation in one piece. Accommodation was great, and the baggage transfer worked seamlessly.

We had a wonderful time and I’m ready to do another one. The walk was well planned with the longest walks at the beginning and at the end but don’t kid yourself, it’s not all strolling through the famous English countryside. The first day was suprisingly hilly and the third day we had to climb over a mountain. But if I can do it anyone can at I live in Canada where we have a lot of snow so I haven’t been out walking for months. With the right equipment, anyone can do this. The hotels weren’t always first class but always clean and the food and friendliness made up for that. Would I do it again? In a minute. I couldn’t think of a better way of seeing England and am already planning my next trip.
