Great help with maps, info, accommodation and luggage transfer.
Day 2 (Heddon-on-the-Wall to Chollerford) 15 miles must be as the crow flies. It felt more like 18. Someone who’d done the same walk (and Ben Nevis the week before) said it’d felt like 20 miles. And 4 of us in the pub in Humshaugh that evening wondered who could walk from the roundabout to Mingary Barn in 10 minutes!

Comments about Hadrian’s Wall Path Walking Holiday :
First time we had taken this type of holiday, from the inital booking with Macs to the actual 7 days walking it was an excellent experience . All the info, directions to B+B’s etc was spot on – even the weather was pretty good. Taking 7 days enabled us to enjoy the area and historical sites etc without being exhausted.

My son and I walked between Corbridge and Gilsland (30 miles) over 3 days. The accomodation and baggage transfer arrangements were great. The distance on day 2 (13 mles) was a bit too much given the poor weather (rain for 5 hours out of 7). The terrain was very boggy in places and slowed us down. When the sun came out the landscape was breathtaking.
Great Walk!

Comments about Hadrian’s Wall Path Walking Holiday :
We chose the 9 day Hadrian’s Wall Walk and added an extra night/rest day half way through at Once Brewed. This allowed us plenty of time to go at our own pace, stop for long lunches or to see sites along the way without having to rush by the beautiful countryside and spectacular views of the crags, wall and vallum. Macs booked great B&Bs all along the way – all were comfortable and the hosts were very gracious and helpful. This is the second walk I’ve done with Macs and it will not be the last!

Extraordinarily easy to organize over the web. Information was informative and accurate and any queries were answered promptly. Felt valued as customers. 10 night, 9 day walk was perfect for us – able to enjoy the physical act of walking, the magnificent scenery and countryside, and the very welcoming English hospitality. Important to appreciate Newcastle’s industrial past on day 1.

It’s been some time since we have hiked. This was a wonderful way to get back into the swing of things!
A wonderful trip and yes, it rained on one or two days, but not for very long.
