Good hard walk, all the accomidation was good and frendly, the guest house at machrihanish was the only one not freindly they just could not be botherd,The argyill arms hotel at Southend would be a good last day stop right at the end of the walk and on the bus route.

Enjoyable walking with a little too much walking on the road. We have changed the last part and walked (it is the other way around, but that doesn’t matter)from Amod to Macrihanish, otherwise we would not have seen the best part: the Mull of Kintyre. Very helpful and freindly taxi service!!

I was a novice walker before this holiday and I now feel that I could cope with any of the great walks! The guide book sent was not recommended by anyone that we met on the way and by several B&B owners as “grossly out of date and not accuarate” Luckily we did have OS maps with us. In some parts of the walk, the waymarkers were difficult to see but I understand that this is being improved all the time.
In saying all of this I truely had a great time, the walk is a mix of wooded glens, moorland, coastal trails and so much more. The scenery is amazing and the B&B were outstanding.

Our 7th long distance path and were not quite sure what to expect on this one. The route which is well marked ,changes direction frequently so, weather permitting ever changing views and sometimes magnificent views of the islands and Antrim coast. Terrain varies from moors, roads and forest tracks, beaches, rocks ,last day undoubtedly the hardest especially if wet or misty. Don’t trust the OS map route ! We were exceptionally lucky with weather. Scenery wonderful , beautiful sunsets,flowers, birdlife & basking seals on the rocks. Real feeling of remoteness at times. Would strongly recommend day off from walking to explore Gigha. Main criticism as others is the amount of tarmac – whilst this didn’t detract from our overall enjoyment of the walk (because so much else compensated for it ), this is something the Kintyre Way really need to address.
There is a unique feel to this walk which, in our opinion sets it equal or better than some of the better known Scottish walks.
Well organised by Macs Adventures again with seamless baggage and taxi transfers.

Seeing so much wildlife was great. Enjoyed the different terrain apart from all the road walking. The only bad thing was near the end at Amod Hill where the Way was diverted from its original path into a boggy field where I got stuck and had to be pulled out by my partner. This was very upsetting.
