Comments about Lady Anne’s Way Walking Holiday :
We did the second half of the walk, from Hawes to Penrith, having done the first half before. This time there were long days through pleasant countryside rather than spectacular scenery. The downside was that navigation was often tricky and many of the paths were overgrown. The last day had a lot of road walking. B&B’s were very good -one of them was outstanding.

Comments about Lady Anne’s Way Walking Holiday :
Lady Anne Clifford isn’t the most widely known of C16 / C17 gentry, and the links with her in this walk were a bit tenuous. But the walk itself is a delight, even in the bitingly cold wind we had in early May. Even the bleakness of Stake Moss had its fascination, while of course the river valley walks along Wharfedale and Wenslydale were stunningly beautiful. The B&B’s were all excellent, each one different, all run by enthusiasts. We seemed to be the first Macs Adventure customers any of them had had, so congratulations to you for finding them.

Good to excellent B&B accommodation at stop-overs. Six good days walking – excellent hill walking. The last day (Appleby/Penrith) a bit dull by comparison and too much road walking.
