Comments about Pembrokeshire Coastal Path Walking Holiday :
In many places there were no places to buy food – so the walkers should be warned – also the places that we stayed wanted to know things about our food tastes etc and tried to call my cell that does not work in EUROPE – there are parts of the booklet that have things in it that are not longer in place – for example, there is no tea room in west angle – it is closed. There is a reference to an art gallery that is also closed – some village shops no longer open to purchase food- but the water is drinkable at all stops.

An amazing range of accommodation, each with their own unique positive characteristics. Most importantly, in all cases, the welcome and attention to our needs was exceptional, most of the meals were good and many outstanding. Varied scenery and realistic distances between stops made it just right to enjoy both the walking and each stopping point.

Macs took all the hard work out of my holiday in Pembrokeshire. My bag was always there when I turned up, the accommodation was really good, the travel pack useful and the staff at Macs were really helpful and on the ball. I would recommend them to all my friends and definitely use them in the future. Thanks a lot.

Comments about Pembrokeshire Coastal Path Walking Holiday :
This year we tried something new: a national trail with luggage transfer and prebooked accommodations.

Usually I am more of a “hike-and-pitch-a-tent” person. A bring-your-own style holiday: backpack and gear.

Since we’re all getting older, we decided on an ‘all inclusive walk’. Macs Adventure took care of this part of the journey; we just had to do the travelling-to and the walking. Macs organised everything excellently. Good accommodations – always one of the best available; and flawless luggage transfer. They also made a good estimation of the distances between the overnight stops.

Smoothly organised, thoroughly enjoyed. Compliments.

A variety of accommodation along the way but all was clean, friendly and of a good standard. Almost all had baths – very welcome at end of day’s walking! Breakfasts great!
Baggage transfer very efficient. Guidebook provided was excellent. Distances walked each day were great – a good walk but plenty of time to take in glorious scenery and places of interest.

this is the second holiday booked through Macs. Hadrian’s wall last year was excellent but this was even better. Fabulous scenery and excellent accomodation made this a week to remember. Luggage transfer was faultless. Staff at Macs were friendly and helpful and everything worked like clockwork.

Comments about Pembrokeshire Coastal Path Walking Holiday :
This was my first long distance walking trip. In summary about 154km in 6 days. The organisation was great due to well selected information from Mac adventures about travelling to the starting point, tour guide, check list for preparing and accommodation list with all necessary information. The accommodations are all sufficient to a walker’s needs. Of course there are some differences in their standard, but all are ok. In difference to the most walkers we met, we did the tour from south to north. This was great, due to we had at any time the strong wind either from back or from the seaside. One day we had strong rain, the others cloudy to sunny. The path is well tagged, so we had never a problem to find the right way. On some sections on the tour there is no possibility to get some food or water, therefore we checked always if we need a lunch packet from the accommodations. They all offer it. The several distances from accommodation to accommodation varied between 19,1km and 36,2km in our trip. The altitude difference is between 0m and 175m. On some sections the path is very steeply and slippery, pay attention when it’s wet and the path is very close to the cliffs. In summary we had really great days.

Two points to improve: Mac adventure provides a really complete tour guide with maps etc. as well as the accommodations list. I covered this list with PET foil in order to prevent it from rain to keep it readable. I was lucky about it due to I had a water ingress in my rucksack. Second, it will be an advantage to have the GPS coordinates of the accommodations. This will help you to find the accommodation faster, especially when you’re tired and your foot have pain.

Comments about Pembrokeshire Coastal Path Walking Holiday :
The organisation was excellent but I think customers should be advised that accommodation is not always excellent which is actually understandable as sometimes one is in the middle of nowhere, but forewarned is forearmed!! Also customers should be encouraged to walk at least an extra hour or two each day as when you get to the destination there is little do to other than hope to have a reasonable meal and a bath! AB
