Great way to plan an unescorted vacation adventure. Planning and travelling instructions we accurate and easy to follow. Hiking instructions were up to date. Accommodations were very good. My only suggestion would be to provide additional alternative hiking routes.

[...]Thought the Hotel Villa Belvedere was wonderful and perfect for our last nights in Cinque Terre. Hotel, location, owners and staff, food. and views were all excellent. Hotel Marina was a little too casual for our taste although location was great for village access and trains.

If you like scrambling up obscure tracks, over track gates, ignoring “proprieta privata” signs and climbing or descending washed out steep steps then this is for you – it wasn’t for me..

The walking guides were excellent. Remarkably we did not lose our way once despite having a very average sense of direction.
The move to the second hotel in Bonassola was unnecessary. The town is not particularly charming and it is difficult to travel to and from relative to Monterosso. All the guided walks could easily have started from Monterosso without the need to move. The accommodation in Bonassola was poor and the food choices not as varied as Monterosso. Bonassola is not one of the five Cinque Terre towns and it was unclear why we were there.
The first four nights in Monterosso were memorable and thoroughly enjoyable. The walks were challenging but invigorating and the beach at the end of the day a well earned treat.

Cinque Terre is beautiful – if you are thinking of visiting you should! The walks were the best way to see the landscape and all of the towns in the area! The maps and schedule provided by Macs were really useful and a good combination of lengths of walk.
Monterosso la mare is a great base, lots of amazing restaurants, beach and everything you could want in on hand.
I would recommend this holiday to anyone!

Very impressed with all aspects. Would be much less enjoyable in full season. Would have liked more warnings about number of steps and degree of climbs in some areas, especially for older clients.
