We had a wonderful time on the WHW, and would strongly recommend it to hill walkers looking for peace and quite and solitude. The outstanding and unspoilt beauty and snow in April made this a very deeply satisfying experience.[...]

Comments about West Highland Escape Short Break :
My two companions had never been on this sort of trip before… so we went for the shorter trip. By the end of it, they were already planning when we could get back to do another one. :)
There were some tough ascents and decents on this trail (pack the trekking poles) but the scenery and views were spectacular and well worth the pain.

The Great Escape

Comments about West Highland Escape Short Break :
Great experience, and one I intend to repeat. Organisation excellent. Highlights of the trip – apart from the magnificent scenery – were the friendliness of other walkers and the camaraderie. Only low point was the ‘welcome’ when we arrived at our B&B in Kinlochleven – the lady of the house was away and her sullen son clearly resented having to stand in for her. Happily there was no sign of him at breakfast the next morning and we went on our way refreshed.

Comments about West Highland Escape Short Break :
[...] The accomodation was excellent at each stopover and the luxury of having luggage efficiently transported with no mishaps was great. In Kinlochleven our host had a problem with the room and we had been rebooked in an alternative which was of the same high standard. If Mac’s adventures could control the weather and the midge population this would be the best introduction to Scotland for anyone visiting these shores. Fortunately/unfortunately some things have to be left to chance and this is what makes it an adventure. [...]

Comments about West Highland Escape Short Break :
Early OCT is .an ideal time to do this break,no midges, not cold and not too many walkers. The sound of the rutting deer was haunting and v special. We were conscious that days were getting shorter and set off early in the day.
All the places we stayed provided useful info re meals etc and we were never hungry
Kingshouse seemed a little shabby but more than made up for this with friendliness and location.
We found the walking on day 1 and 2 fairly easy , and day 3 more challenging however we had no rain or wind.

Comments about West Highland Escape Short Break :
This was really well organised in a beautiful area. Accommodation was lovey and very peaceful. Walks were challenging at times especially in howling wind and rain but it did not spoil it at all
