Comments about West Highland Way Walking Holiday :
My 16 year old daughter and I wanted to set ourselves the challenge of Walking the Way followed by Ben Nevis. It was really peaceful and beautiful….and very tiring! Ben Nevis was like a motorway in comparison to the WWF which was really quiet. We did not want to camp on this occasion so Macs did all the organising for us which was seamless with friendly and high quality B&Bs throughout. If only they could organise the weather but that’s August for you!

Comments about West Highland Way Walking Holiday :
As this was the first time we had done a long-distance path in its entirety we opted to book with Macs – the whole trip was great, lots of information in advance of the trip, a useful guidebook, good accommodation (including veggie sausages!) and the baggage transfer service is fantastic – so good to get to your destinatioon and find your stuff there. The path is really straightforward (very difficult to get lost, big stretches where you can walk side by side and possibly a bit easier than we were expecting) and you meet some lovely people along the way.

Daily distances just right

Comments about West Highland Way Walking Holiday :
We used Macs Adventure to organise accommodation for us on the West Highland Way, and to arrange for our bags to be transported from one B&B/hotel to the next. The accommodation was generally of a high standard, although sometimes further out of the centre of town than we wanted, and sometimes a bit cramped. However the biggest plus for me was that they used their experience of the WHW to ensure that we walked a reasonable but not excessive number of miles each day so that it was always a pleasure rather than a grind.

Enjoyable

Comments about West Highland Way Walking Holiday :
I enjoyed my WHW. Macs Adventure provide a well organised and smooth trip giving you confidence that you will get no nasty surprises. The WHW itself provides straightforward route finding and you can choose your daily distance to make it more or less challenging. By it’s nature the route winds between the peaks and that can give it a lack of “adventure” because you rarely get the height, views and challenging climbs that you might want in such a part of the world. The accommodation was fine and was almost directly on the route which is good after a day of hiking. Baggage transfer worked well. I will certainly use Macs Adventure again

Comments about West Highland Way Walking Holiday :
The West Highland Way in Spring was a great activity. Enough people to make it fairly sociable but not too many that it became a procession. The accommodation was generally very good with the opportunity for a tasty pint and a good pub meal close by. The weather 2-9 April was certainly varied: snow, rain, strong head winds, but frequent sunny spells. Unfortunately low level cloud obscured the views but we saw many of these from the train on the return journey. [...].

Comments about West Highland Way Walking Holiday :
This was my second trip up the West Highland Way with Macs Adventure. I liked my first experience so much, I dragged a bunch of friends over to do it again. We had a large group and very specific requirements for timing and Dan made it all flow seamlessly. The WHW covers a terrific bit of country but equally wonderful is the ability to just abdicate responsibility. Traveling with Macs Adventure lets you do just that. Every member of our group was delighted. Highly recommended and will do another holiday with them (hopefully soon!).

A team of 5 set out to complete the West Highland Way over a period of 7 days at Easter 2012. 3 guys 2 girls we were surprised just how many people where completing this path. The weather was really kind and we only had two rough days, Snow & Heavy Rain however all said again excellent organisation by Mac’s team in accommodation and baggage transfer. The walk gets more challenging the further north you go, great pubs, guest houses and B&B’s. Fantastic views , great photo’s and lost 9 Lb’s !!

Our 5th Walk with Mac’s team taking the strain really enjoyed the experience now looking for our next path ?

Comments about West Highland Way Walking Holiday :
Walking the West Highland Way was made easier by the brilliant organisation of Macs Adventures. Accommodation booked for us was second to none with each one giving us a very warm welcome and the fact our luggage was waiting for us was superb. We cannot fault Macs in any way. It is a great challenge and a real achievement especially to have done it in five days. Feet were sore as some of the terrain is hard going, but they will heal. Weather was brilliant lucky to have no rain or the snow the rest of Scotland seemed to have. So glad to have done this.
