Walking in Mallorca Map and Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrive Mallorca / Valldemossa
Mallorca has excellent flight links to most UK and European destinations. Valldemossa is 24 km from Palma de Mallorca Airport and a taxi is about 36 Euro. Public transport is also available.
Valldemossa is a small town built around an old Carthusian monastery. Local residents proudly recall the historical year in which Frederic Chopin and George Sand, early European bohemians, wintered here.
Overnight: Boutique Hotel, Valldemossa
Your hotel for the first two nights in Valldemossa is a 19th century mansion in the historical centre of this beautiful village. The entrance hall and living room are decorated in the style of the Romantic period, but the rooms upstairs are all modern and ample. The pleasant Majorcan owners really know how to make a feast out of breakfast, which is served on the terrace.
DAY 2: Circular Walk from Valldemossa
Your walk follows a trail designed by Archduke Ludwig Salvador, renowned "connoisseur" of the island who spent his life investigating the geology and botany of Mallorca. The walking route offers magnificent views to the Mediterranean Sea. Possibility of extending the walk with an ascent to Es Teix peak (1062m).Walk: 16km, 6 hrs, 700m ascent/descent
