We'd love to say we spend our days on location hiking, biking or generally getting our boots dirty, but everyone needs a healthy balance, so we spend plenty of time at the office working hard to create your experiences and adventures too.
The Macs Adventure team is made up our hard-working Destination and Adventure Specialists to connect travellers with the right trips, and Operations team who plan and organise our tours, a Product Development Team, who build new adventures and research new and exciting destinations, a Marketing department who look after the website and our Finance and Office Management team, who, quite frankly, keep us all in order! At the head of our German, US and UK teams is our Chief Adventure Officer, Neil, who oversees everything and drives new ideas forward.
I was driven to found Macs Adventure in 2003 by a passion for adventure and active travel. I firmly believe that the very best way to discover a country, its landscape, culture and people is under your own steam.
I’m Craig and I have been at Macs Adventure since April 2016. After graduating from university I undertook a ski season in 2012/13. This was meant to be a short-lived 5-month escapade….ever since I have jumped around ski resort to ski resort enjoying what my family have called a ‘gap life’.
Hailing from the Western Isles of Scotland, I'm lucky enough to have grown up surrounded by the beautiful beaches and dramatic landscapes our country has to offer. Like many people though, I chose to travel to far-flung destinations to explore other countries and cultures as soon as I graduated from University.
I have been passionate about travel since an early age, spending my childhood travelling to America, Canada, Asia and Europe, I went on to study Travel management at university which gave me great opportunities to work in America and led me to undertake a trip of a lifetime around the world!
Growing up I was lucky enough to travel to some amazing places including USA, Morocco and Australia, but also loved weekends away in Scotland in our trusty caravan and visiting the islands of arran, Mull and Tiree.
I have spent the last nine years working in the Sail Training Industry, working my way up to Skipper. I managed youth work voyages on the beautiful West Coast of Scotland and worked with some amazing people over this time.
My passion for travel and adventure came from the wonderful trips and holidays my parents took me on as a child. We visited various different places in Europe, America as well as regular trips around Scotland, to North Uist and Inverness to visit family.
I've worked in travel and tourism for over 9 years now and I have been with Macs Adventure since 2014. I love going on holiday and visiting interesting places so there really is no better way to spend my working day, helping our customers plan their adventures to fantastic locations all over the world.< ...
I arrived in Scotland after living in Italy, Portugal, and Galicia, where I come from. I like to learn about other cultures while being part of the community. I was lucky to be able to do so on several occasions while attending language courses in different parts of the world.
My love of travel started at a young age, stemming from my parents’ love of holidays, meaning I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time visiting destinations abroad, throughout the UK, and seeing much of my homeland, Scotland.
I was raised in Clermont-Ferrand which is in Auvergne, a stunning volcanic landscape (where the water Volvic comes from!). After I graduated in Tourism in 2012, I decided to move to Scotland for 6 months with the Leonardo da Vinci program.
Holidays have always been spent camping in Scotland or snorkelling and adventuring in beautiful sunny countries which encouraged me to study a degree in Outdoor Pursuits Management and graduating this year.
Having come from a travel industry background I have been involved in many aspects, cabin crew, hotel receptionist, travel agent, but to name a few, I have always been drawn to the wonderful world of travel.
Travelling has always been a huge passion of mine ever since I was a child. My parents used to take my siblings and I on holidays all over Europe from quite a young age, which is something that I am truly grateful for as it ignited the love for exploring new places and meeting new people that I have today.
Passionate about travel, I love nothing more than seeing new places and meeting new people. I have travelled extensively around Asia, Europe and Australia, and wherever possible like to do as much of this overland as possible as believe this is the best way to see a country.
Brought up in Scotland by parents who love the outdoors I’ve been hiking since I could carry a backpack. I studied geology at the University of St Andrews but my passion for world travel and the outdoors drew me to Macs Adventure. In my spare time I’m a mountaineer, hill-walker and obsessed rock climber.
I grew up travelling a lot, being American/Swedish and growing up in Switzerland I was constantly travelling to see family members who are spread out all over the world this is where my love of travel began.
Growing up, I spent many Summers travelling both abroad and throughout the UK as my family and I love nothing more than seeing (and tasting) what other cultures have to offer and, perhaps even more so, soaking up local history.
I have had a passion for travel from a young age and had the joys of lots of family holidays when I was younger. Having a big brother who has done his fair bit of traveling and now lives in Vancouver, itchy feet must run in our family!
I have always loved spending time outdoors whether that is sitting in the sun (with a gin) or doing something adventurous. Growing up living just next to the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park pretty much every weekend was spent going for walks with my family and of course having a lovely cake and coffee ...
Originally from Australia, after finishing my degree in Theatre, I did the typical Aussie thing of travelling. Based in the UK, after just a few years I’d travelled to 25 countries, and my love for exploring was ignited.
Growing up with parents who had travelled throughout Europe and Africa, I’ve always loved travelling. They instilled in me a love of adventure and a love of good local food.
