Self Guided Walking Holidays & Cycling Holidays

Kristin Carpenter: Operations Manager

Areas of expertise: Keeping the Ops team on track

I have always been a sporty and active person that loves to travel so putting the two together comes naturally.

While my previous career was incredibly rewarding and took me around the globe working on multi-sport Games, it eventually came time to make a home base.  Glasgow was an easy choice - friendly people, a beautiful city with easy access to everywhere in the world, incredible nature moments from the city, and of course Macs Adventure HQ.  The move paid off as a few months later I landed my dream job in my dream company!

Joining the team in October 2016 as Sales and Operations Manager, I get to spend my working days managing an amazing team of Destination and Adventure Specialists to provide a consistently high level of service to our customers while constantly developing their own skills.

Outside of work I try to get out to see and do new things whether that is discovering a new part of Scotland or travelling further afield.

If I had to pick one place in the world to visit would have to be Vancouver with its endless hiking, cycling and kayaking opportunities.  Some of my other favourite travel highlights include cycling the Danube Cycle Trail, hiking in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, cycling around Lake Luzerne in Switzerland and driving the path less travelled through the country and outback in Australia.  While I am not sure yet where my next adventure will take me, I always know it will be somewhere or something completely different!
