Self Guided Walking Holidays & Cycling Holidays

Being born and raised in Scotland, all of my family holidays were spent traveling around the country, spending long weekends and school holidays in places like the lake district or down on the beautiful coast of Cornwall. Unlike many of the people here at Macs, I actually come from a background in retail and it was only in 2014 while working in my high street supermarket job that I finally decided it was time to explore a bit further from home.

Armed with my shiny new passport, a few one way tickets and buckets of enthusiasm, I took off on a journey which would take me to some amazing places in Canada, North America, Fiji and would lead me to New Zealand, which will now always feel like my second home.

It was really New Zealand that changed me into the avid outdoors enthusiast I am today by showing me the joy and beauty of exploring the wild. It was here I discovered my love for snowboarding and my absolute love for hiking and camping.

Since returning home I’ve really been trying to see as much of what Scotland has to offer as I can, so I like to spend my free time either ticking Munros off of my list or looking for hidden gems in the many great walks Scotland has to offer.
