Self Guided Walking Holidays & Cycling Holidays

Vicki Woods: Head of Finance

Areas of expertise: Balancing the books

I couldn’t believe my luck to find this role at Macs, offering my kind of authentic holiday off the beaten track.  Albeit, it’s akin to a kid working in a sweetie shop drooling at all the new and exciting new trips our Product team creates, not able to road test all of them!  With offices in Germany, I can practice my German & more recently Colorado, where I am hoping to visit & practice my skiing!

Hailing from Lancashire, with my father an avid mountaineer, I was cajoled up many a hill in Snowdonia & the Lake District.  I am now repeating history and dragging my daughter up hills or cycling around our local stomping ground of Loch Lomond & the Trossachs!  After half an hour, the teenage moaning stops, the fun starts and then the sense of achievement & memories kicks in.

My other interests are running & reading.  Last summer, I ran the womens’ 10k last summer with colleagues & friends.  I’m also a member of a book/ wine club, which meets once a month, with visits to the theatre & cinema thrown in.  This year’s highlight was going on a Winter Skills course organised by the Macs Culture Club with colleagues, learning how to use crampons and sliding head first in the snow performing an ice axe arrest!
