  • Cycle through Andalucian white villages from Seville to Cadiz
  • Discover the birthplace of tapas and dance the Flamenco in Seville
  • Explore Jerez de la Frontera, the Spanish city of sherry
  • Relax with a beachside cerveza in Cadiz
  • Stay in historic Parador luxury hotels & haciendas
Journey across Andalucía by bike, cycling from Seville to Cadiz and spending each night in historic hotels, Paradors and haciendas. Starting out in Seville, explore ancient alleyways and sunny plazas as you discover the Giralda Tower and the UNESCO listed Alcazar. Experience the flare of flamenco as you hop between tapas bars, tasting local dishes of Iberico jamon. From Seville pedal across plains of sunflowers and olive groves to the white villages of Carmona and Montellano. Cycle to the city of Sherry, Jerez de la Frontera before rolling into Spain’s oldest settlement, Cadiz, where Moorish architecture meets sophisticated waterside bars and cafes, the perfect end to your cycling holiday.

What To Expect

The tour is graded moderate and you will cycle between 49-70km per day across the plains and rolling terrain of Andalucía. By day explore Moorish cities and quintessential white villages, fuelling each ride on tasty local tapas. In the late afternoon sun, relax poolside at your historic hotel or hacienda - the perfect Andalucian experience after an active day in saddle. We highly recommend hiring an E-bike for this tour due to the longer distances and undulating terrain, as they offer a boost on the hills when the legs need a little help. It also means you'll have more time to take in the sites, take long lunches and enjoy a well-deserved beverage at the end of your ride.

When To Go

March to June and September to October are just about perfect conditions. March and April generally have cooler temperatures whereas May welcomes long warm days, where plazas come to life and the countryside is thriving. The spring months also offer the best of Andalucia's flora and fauna. September through to November generally has fewer tourists and makes for prime time visiting.

Getting to the Start

Seville Airport has direct connections with a limited number of European cities, including London. Arriving from further afield, many services travel via London or Madrid.

From the airport, a shuttle bus is a 30 minute journey into the centre, or a taxi will coast approximately 25 Euros.

Alternatively, there are also train connections to Cadiz, Jerez de la Frontera (1 hr), Malaga (2hrs) and a high speed train connection to Madrid (2hr 30mins). Please check www.renfe.com for timetables and prices.

Should you prefer a private transfer please contact us for prices and information.

Getting from the End

Cadiz does not have an airport but efficient train services link through to Seville, (1hr30min), Jerez de la Frontera (30min) and Madrid (3-4hrs) where you can connect through to international airports. If flying from Malaga, there are regular trains to there (2 hrs). Times and prices can be accessed via the Renfe website.

Baggage Transfer

Your bags will be transferred from your accommodation as per your itinerary and moved onto your next overnight accommodation. We ask you to limit your luggage to one bag of up to 20kg per person.

General Information

The distances and ascents/descents are approximations of the recommended routes. Please be prepared by packing all necessary items, for example proper rain gear, sun hat, sunscreen. Your information pack has detailed advice and a kit list on what to take. This includes good waterproof gear, sports shoes, and lots of other useful bits and bobs.

Equipment

Bike & E-Bike Hire

Kalkhoff Voyager 27 speed touring bikes or E-Bikes are available for hire. Rental bikes come equipped with a basic repair kit, pump and helmet (though we recommend using your own). Male and female frames are available.

We highly recommend hiring an E-bike for this tour due to the longer distances and undulating terrain, as they offer a boost on the hills when the legs need a little help. It also means you'll have more time to take in the sites, take long lunches and enjoy a well-deserved beverage at the end of your ride.

If you’d like to hire a bike, please let us know your height and frame size you currently ride.

If you would prefer to bring your own bicycle please ensure it is thoroughly serviced and is an appropriate bike for this trip such as a Giant Argento, Scott Sub, Trek 7200 or similar.
