Grade & Terrain
This walk is graded moderate to difficult with walks ranging from 9-20 km / 5.5-12.5 miles each day. There are sections with steep ascents and descents along with several sections of soft sand walking over dunes. You can also expect a couple of water crossings and boardwalks.
Navigation
As this is a self-guided walk you will be responsible for navigation, decision making and safety during your trip. You should be able to navigate easily with a map and compass. We supply you with route notes for the recommended routes, as well as access to our smartphone navigation app along with GPX tracks, so you will have no problem following the route each day.
Accommodation Information
Overnight in hand-selected accommodations specifically chosen to minimize transfer times at the beginning and end of each day. They all offer a warm welcome to walkers and traditional hospitality.

Single sleeping arrangements can be organized but please note this trip is not available to solo travelers.

When To Go
You can start your adventure on any day between September and April. Generally speaking, the summer is the most pleasant time of year for hiking as there are plenty hours of daylight and warm daytime temperatures.
Weather and Climate
The warm season lasts from December to March, with an average daily high temperature of 21 degrees Celcius / 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

By Air: The Melbourne Airport is the most convenient airport, with various international airlines operating here.
By Bus: From Melbourne, you can take a bus to Apollo Bay. This bus route requires a stop in Geelong. Timetables and tickets can be found on the V/Line website.
Getting from the End
By Air: The Melbourne Airport is the most convenient airport, with various international airlines operating here.
By Bus: From Apollo Bay, you can take a bus back to Melbourne. This bus route requires a stop in Geelong. Timetables and tickets can be found on the V/Line website.
Baggage Transfer
All luggage transfers are included. We request that you have only one piece of luggage per person and it should weigh no more than 20kg.
