Croatia Travel Restrictions and resources
23 Aug 2021
Croatia is open to American travelers from the United States, and within Croatia you can expect many of the same measures you would experience in most worldwide destinations (wearing of facemasks and social distancing measures), but none of these should prevent you from having an enjoyable and relaxed trip surrounded by Croatia's coastal and inland charm. We have prepared this information to help you understand the current travel restrictions and advice, but you should always consult official and government sources for the latest official guidelines.
Visitors from the US are able to enter Croatia for tourism purposes, as long as they have a pre-booked and pre-paid trip including accommodation (any Macs Adventure itinerary would qualify for this). You will need proof of vaccination, or a negative PCR test (no requirement for either for under 12s). More details are available on the US Embassy Website.

Proof of Vaccination required: A certificate of vaccination for persons whose final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is more than 14 days prior to crossing the border.
Proof of negative test required: A negative viral test result: PCR not older than 72 hours or rapid antigen test (list of acceptable antigen tests) not older than 48 hours (counting from the time of taking the test to arriving at the border crossing point).
Form: Complete this entry form before arriving in Croatia.
What can I expect when I arrive in Croatia?
Remaining restrictions can vary by area, but most shops, hotels and restaurants are now open and Croatia is keen to welcome visitors to experience its culture, produce, and hospitality. Restaurants can serve customers indoors (limited number of guests) but bars and cafes must serve outdoors (outdoor eating and drinking is generally a big part of the tourist experience in Croatia at most times!). Some overall restrictions continue, which include facemasks in enclosed places and public transport, 1.5m social distancing, and enhanced hygiene measures. You can be fined for not wearing a mask in public, so make sure you have plenty! Croatia has a "stay safe in Croatia" badge available to tourist facilities and destinations which comply to the correct epidemiological measures and health safety recommendations.
Where can I get Covid tested in Croatia?
Tests are widely available in Croatia, and you can find more information on locations here.
Returning from Croatia to the USA:
You will need to get tested (PCR or Antigen) no more than 3 days before you travel by air into the United States (US) and show your negative result to the airline before you board your flight, or be prepared to show documentation of recovery (proof of a recent positive viral test and a letter from your healthcare provider or a public health official stating that you were cleared to travel).
