I think it was very well planned and organised. From my point of view it went very smoothly almost all of the time! I knew where was going and how to contact the accommodation.

Easy booking process, although needed to be chased this time.
Great accommodation every night along the walk. Some was excellent and the worst was good.
Craig Dickson kept us well informed by e-mail of a necessary change in accommodation after we had started the walk, and then that there would be no evening meal available in the village, but that the guest house could supply. Thanks. This gave us a comfortable feeling that backup would be available in the event of a problem.
Great attitude from Kingshouse Travel. Flexible in altering pick-up time at Ardtalnaig and friendly drivers.
On-line trip notes work well, but if amendments are made we should receive an e-mail to alert us. Specifically, when I first received confirmation of the booking, and hence access to the trip notes, I printed them for use on the walk, noting there were no details of how we would be transported back from Ardtalnaig to Killin, but assuming we would learn this in Killin. From a chance encounter with the driver who had come to collect the bags in Callander, I learnt this would be by Kingshouse and that details should be in the trip notes. I looked again on-line and found the details were now there but they must have been added at a later date.
While the holiday overall was satisfactory, there were a few areas where our Macs Adventure fell short of our previous experience. Firstly, not sending out the paper instructions and maps which resulted in much more time, effort and cost on our part which was not reflected in any reduction of cost. We met walkers with other companies who had received the full pack and we don’t really understand why Covid was a reason for not doing this. Secondly, there were a few hiccups with the accommodation, which were dealt with at the time but were inconvenient, partic at the end of a long days walk. Overall the standard of accommodation was pretty ordinary. Thirdly, with a climb up to 2000 feet most days the walk was significantly more arduous than the promotional material had led us to expect. The detailed descriptions were okay but paths had been eroded or were quite hazardous in some places.

Excellent accommodation Lovely countryside, disappointing weather for early sept but can't control that. The service that Mac's staff provided was exemplary. I ordered an electric bike halfway through. The first day was very hilly and I was very challenged. This Cotswold ride in not in any way an easy ride. Good route and two marvellous bases especially The Olive Branch - great.

All our accommodation was booked as expected and was of a good quality.
The app would have been even more useful if it had had details of each nights accomodation.
Macs were fantastic, able to book a last-minute holiday and quick to respond. They were flexible with our additional requests and were completely professional. The holiday itself was wonderful. They though of everything and we were worry-free the whole holiday. Would wholeheartedly recommend (and I'm likely to use them again in the future!)
Booking was responsive and flexible. Accommodation was varied and generally of very good quality (the main exception being the Rowardennan Hotel which was below the standard of the rest - we realise there is no other option!). Background information was comprehensive and helpful.
One mix-up over the pickup point at Kingshouse, where the itinerary was wrong, apparently. Sorted out in the end, but initial response to query from Glencoe Centre was somewhat unhelpful.
For people of our generation, it was inconvenient to have everything electronic. Much prefer the little booklets provided by other companies in the past.
Could have provided better weather on occasions!
With COVID and a shortish window to organise the trip there were some challenges. However Mac’s did not update me within the 5 day period and I had to contact them to ascertain progress to discover the trip was not finalised. That said a lot of effort was made to get the planning over the line. This involved more input on my part than I would have hoped.
The trip itself was very enjoyable and Macs choice of accommodation excellent.
The trip was in a remote area and I am not sure all mapping was available for the route
All in all though a great trip and a decent effort from Macs.

Walking holiday fully planned with only a week's notice.
All accommodation very good and taxis were reliable.
Able to amend booking to exclude baggage transfer with 3 days notice.
Phone calls answered quickly.
Only downside (small) was slightly optimistic view of time duration of one leg.

Great Isle of Wight walking holiday. Took a little longer to confirm the booking than normal and I had to chase. Would have liked better quality accommodation - B&Bs were very good but hotels much less so.

The accommodation was really good, as were the walks. The GPS came into it’s own on the day we had poor visibility.
The holiday was great, had a few hairy moments, few drenchings and a few lovely days.
Great trip! Only one hiccup. One the hotels was unexpectedly closed due to covid. But Macs was awesome and had another room for us in about 15 minutes!

Good daily walking challenges - some days quite demanding but nothing too excessive. The accommodation booked was all excellent and some really excellent particularly when you remember the additional difficulties Covid 19 has introduced.
My booking was last minute and there were a few issues with dealing with my request that there be no taxi transfers. I was also drawn to the itinerary by the advertised stay in the Kingshouse Hotel but was told when booking that this depended on availability. I had to pay the full amount before accommodation was confirmed even though I stated I would not be interested in the itinerary if there were transfers (too many bad experiences) and if I couldn’t stay at the Kingshouse. This took considerable time to resolve and exasperation as it seemed to me that too many Mac people were in and out of the booking. This seems to be the case with previous bookings and recent enquiries. I lost interest in my most recent enquiry.
They responded quickly to my questions, but it often took several attempts to elicit the desired response
We definitely got the worst room in two of our hotels/B&Bs, we assume because Macs Adventures only generally pay for the cheapest rooms. One taxi didn't show up and we had to ring to arrange. The Itinerary could easily be improved - eventually you realise they try to write it to cover a number of similar trips but it means some of it is not relevant to our trip, which isn't always immediately obvious and so confusing. It took quite some time before our accommodation and transfers were confirmed and I had to chase this on a number of occasions.
