When To Go
This tour is available from mid-May to mid-September. You can start on any date subject to availability. Alaska is a popular destination with limited lodging capacity, so it is best to book as far in advance as you are able. The best months to visit Alaska is anytime between June and September. In June and early July, you get to experience nearly endless daylight and clearer skies. In August, while you have more of a chance for rain, you also have the opportunity to see the Northern Lights on some lucky evenings. Alaska weather can vary but on average you will experience around mid-60s Fahrenheit as a high and down to low 40's Fahrenheit as a low.
Weather and Climate
As weather patterns in the mountains are often unpredictable and can change suddenly, hikers should be prepared for hiking in the rain, mud, and on the rare occasion, snow, should there be an early or late snow season that year.
Getting to the Start
We include an arrival pick up and drop off on the final day to Anchorage International Airport.
If you are already in Anchorage we can also start the trip with a pick-up from your hotel.
