8 Days & 7 Nights 4.5 Read 13 reviews
  • Walk ancient winding footpaths on the Greek Ionian island of Corfu
  • Pantokrator, Corfu's highest mountain, crowned by its 17th century monastery
  • Off-the-beaten path locations with olive groves, blue seas and lush green mountains
  • Discover the elegant capital Corfu Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Watch the sunset as you dine on traditional and delicious Greek cuisine al fresco
This tour of Corfu showcases rural Greece at its very best with walks on cobbled mule paths, through ancient olive groves, and in the island's lush green and rugged interior. Access sections of the Corfu Trail, which take you through landscapes that are untouched by mass tourism and explore the elegant capital, Corfu Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its resplendent architecture. Stay in seaside towns and discover sleepy stone villages and cypress-studded hills on your walks. Follow trails over Pantokrator, Corfu's highest mountain crowned by its 17th century monastery and see the incredible wildlife of the Korission coastal lagoon, such as flamingoes, pelicans, egrets, kingfishers and terrapins. Experience this island's glorious sunsets, delicious local food and a warm Greek welcome.
This walking tour on Corfu will appeal to people who love sunshine, great views and want to explore the more remote parts of this Ionian Island. Some of the walks are on the long-distance path The Corfu Trail. The rating for the walks range from easy to moderate but the overall rating is moderate due to some fairly significant elevation gains and losses, but the distances are very manageable. Get ready for walks through olive groves, remote and traditional Greek villages, past a coastal lagoon and to sandy coves.

Activity Level & Terrain

This tour combines a mix of walks which are graded anywhere from easy to moderate. However it is graded moderate overall as there are some steep ascents and descents. The walks follow a mixture of old mule tracks, gravel roads, footpaths and minor roads.

As some of the walks on the long-distance route, the Corfu Trail, these will be intermittently waymarked. Some of the routes will not be waymarked. However on this tour we provide navigation in the Macs Adventure Smartphone App which you can download for use off-line. See your information pack on how to do this. You will need to use the app to navigate on this tour as we do not provide turn by turn directions. If you simply follow the little blue line (you are the dot) this will ensure that you won't get lost.

On this 7-night tour you will stay in a combination of properties, from a 3* hotel in Messonghi, which is close to the beach, to a 3* hotel in the centre of Corfu Town and a hotel in Barbati in a quiet area close to the sea. The rooms that you will stay in are all rated as superior and aside from the central one in Corfu Town will have sea views. All rooms have private facilities and almost always they will have a balcony or a terrace.

Alternate Accommodation

In most cases you will stay in the standard accommodation that we offer on this trip. However, in particularly busy times of year or in the off-season when some of the standard hotels are not yet open an alternative hotel maybe necessary. However, we will always try to maintain the same standards of quality and the walks will never be affected.
