PEACE OF MIND GUARANTEE ADDENDUM TO MACS ADVENTURE, LTD. BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS
The following Peace of Mind Guarantee Addendum provisions (“provisions”) supplement and amend the Macs Adventure, Ltd Booking Terms & Conditions (“standard Booking Terms”). These provisions will only apply to bookings made after September 1, 2020. Our standard Booking Terms apply to all bookings, except to the extent any of these provisions apply.
In the event of a conflict between any aspect of these amendments and our standard Booking Terms Conditions, these provisions will prevail:
- Change by you before trip departure for any reason* (amendment to sections 4 and 6 of our standard Booking Terms)
Up to 4 weeks before departure, if you need to change your booking for any reason* you have the following options:
a. Change to an alternative trip**
b. Postpone your trip to a later date**
c. Cancel and pay standard cancellation charges as set out in section 6 of our standard Booking Conditions
*The above options exclude Bike and Boat trips and adventure bookings in the following countries: Peru, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand. Any changes or cancellation to these trips will be subject to section 6 of our Standard Booking Terms and any refund offered will be less any non-refundable costs, which will be detailed in your confirmation.
**If the cost of your new trip or date is different than your existing trip, we will offer a refund for the difference in cost if the new trip/date costs less, or charge you for the difference in cost if the new trip/date costs more.
- Change or cancel by you before trip departure resulting from a direct impact of COVID-19, as defined below:
You will have the following options if you wish to cancel your booking at any time before departure resulting from a direct impact of COVID-19 (as determined in Macs Adventure’s sole discretion, see below):
a. Change to an alternative trip**
b. Postpone to a later date**
c. Receive a full refund from us within 28 days of cancellation****
** If the cost of your new trip or date is different than your existing trip, we will offer a refund for the difference in cost if the new trip/date costs less, or charge you for the difference in cost if the new trip/date costs more.
**** Not applicable to bookings made with trip credit.
Macs Adventure will determine, in its sole discretion, whether you have experienced a direct impact of COVID-19 in order to allow you to change or cancel under the above provision. Direct impacts of COVID-19 include the following scenarios, one or more of which must affect your Macs Adventure travel before your departure:
a. If an official government body in your country of origin advise against travel (including non-essential travel) to your destination (E.g. for US travelers, the Department of State or the Center for Disease Control).
b. If the national, state or local authority in your country of origin/place of residence pass laws or impose restrictions that prevent you from traveling to your trip destination (e.g. the implementation of a local lockdown).
c. If a government (including national or local) authority in your country of travel issues a law or regulation requiring you to quarantine upon arrival to your trip destination;
d. If the national, state or local authority in your country of origin/place of residence pass laws or impose restrictions requiring you to quarantine upon return from your trip destination or from a country you traveled through to get to or return from your trip destination;
e. If the destination you are travelling to has closed its borders or is otherwise denying entry to visitors;
f. If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 before departure and are not able to travel;
g. If you have been in contact with someone that has been diagnosed with COVID-19, and, as a result, the national, state or local authority in your country of origin/place of residence requires you to self-isolate, preventing you from travelling;
h. If you are required to quarantine after returning from another destination, preventing you from travelling with us.
Please note: if you wish to cancel for reasons f. – h., we require evidence of these reasons in order to honor your refund.
These provisions do not restrict or limit your rights contained within our standard Booking Terms but offer you alternative change or cancellation options.
Provisions 1 and 2, above, apply only pre-departure. You are not entitled to the benefits of this Addendum where you leave your trip after departure. Please see section 4 of our standard Booking Terms for further information.
If, after you have departed, we are not able to provide a significant portion of the arrangements that you have booked with us, we will, if possible, make alternative arrangements for you at no extra charge, and if those alternative arrangements are of a lower standard, provide you with an appropriate price reduction.
How to change or cancel: You must notify us of your cancellation and the reason via email: email@example.com. Any cancellation will only be effective when we receive it in writing via email.
