Your 2019 Adventure Calendar

As one year ends, it's time to reflect on adventures gone by, or maybe consign some things to the past and start looking forward to a year of fun, positivity, and adventurous times! Stuck for ideas? Here is our handy guide to where to go each month of 2019, to get the travel inspiration flowing and help you set some goals (plus, read through the most-loved trips of 2018 to be inspired by the travel choices of our customers in past 12 months).

January:

The Routeburn track in New Zealand is a hiker's paradise, and with January being the height of summer what better excuse to escape the cold weather? We do recommend booking as early as possible as the huts book up well in advance for the Great Season. However there are plenty other alternatives in NZ such as the Abel Tasman and Queen Charlotte Coastal Track. Hike the Routeburn Track, NZ

February:

Is 2019 the year to tick off the bucket-list Galapagos Islands? Explore the western Galapagos Islands by boat, kayak, bike and on foot as you make your way from Santa Cruz to Isabela Island.

March:

It's the beginning of Spring season in the Sierra de Grazelema National Park. March is a great time to visit, when flowers are blooming and the temperatures are perfect for hiking!

April:

The Coast to Coast in England is one of the world’s great walks and encompasses two coasts, three national parks and 199 miles of footpath to create a perfect snapshot of northern England. Experience it at its most tranquil in Spring...

May:

Vienna's festival of culture and the arts, Weiner Festwochen, kicks off in May and is the perfect time to pedal the Danube on Europe's favourite (and most relaxed) cycle path.

June:

The West Highland Way in Scotland is our most popular walk. If we're honest, the weather can't be guaranteed in Scotland at any time of year (did someone say "four seasons in one day"?), but according to the Met office you have the least chance of rain in June! Pack your sunscreen, your waterproofs, and we guarantee you will have fun no matter what the weather brings.

July:

The Tour du Mont Blanc season is short, as the snow usually only clears to make the paths passable for non-technical walkers from June - September. July is a great time to take on this epic circuit of Mont Blanc.

August:

Experienced hikers will love this classic long-distance trail through the stunning high peaks of the Dolomites. August is the most popular month (with the locals too!) so we recommend booking as early as possible!

September:

The summer heat will have started to wane, making September a very popular month to take on the Camino de Santiago. Book early to avoid disappointment, and begin to look forward to one of the world's greatest journeys.

October:

Biking Vermont is a great way to see 'the Green Mountain State' and sample all of its wonders. October is a great month not only for outdoor enthusiasts to Vermont, but also the leaf-peepers and photographers, making it tough to secure reservations – but if you do, the colours of peak foliage season are pure magic.

November:

Another bucket-list adventure that should be top of your list! Walk the Inca Trail, explore Cusco and discover the traditions and culture of the Sacred Valley, accompanied by a local expert guide and in the company of a small group of up to 12 fellow walkers. Plenty time to get planning...

December:

We can't let the year finish without pointing out how fabulous the Canary islands are! Try either Tenerife or La Gomera for some incredible landscapes on an invigorating walking trip.

Hiking in Tenerife

Tenerife is an ideal winter hiking break, with so much beyond the popular beaches.
