Feedback Favourites: Best of Braveheart & an artist in the making
Weekly Feedback Favourites We publish over 1300 reviews on our website to help you make an informed choice based on the words and photographs of previous adventurers. From the Best of Braveheart to an artist in the making, here are some extracts from our favourite Macs Adventure reviews and customer photos of the last seven days: Photo (above) - West Highland Way: Alex from Wadhurst was keen to share this image of the locals on the West Highland Way. A friendly bunch! Feedback Boats tugging at their leashes in MevagisseySouth West Coast Path: Falmouth to Plymouth "A delight of colors, textures & tastes. Made me want to learn to paint.....very different from our own BC west coast." - Mary H from Salmon Arm, BC Canada. Mary also shared this image of the boats tugging at their leashes in Mevagissey Best of Braveheart! "We did the heart of the Highlands, in theory only three days of self-guided walking, but we squeezed an extra day in at the beginning. Scotrail from Edinburgh to Blair Atholl and checked into the charming, if stereotyped Atholl Arms Hotel (great food, ale and location along with helpful if quirky staff), and then traipsed the Glen Tilt walk to warm up. Day two, we hit Cairn Liath in a gale. Just perfect to end that blustery day in front of a blazing fire with local Whiskey. Smooth luggage transfer and a terrific long walk to Pitlochry, the highlight of the Highlands. Two nights at Dunmurray B&B were not enough. Proprietors were amazing people - friends, helpers, guides. Climbing the Ben was spectacular, and dinner at Fern Cottage capped my 60th birthday. Thank you, Mac's Adventure, for setting up the best trip I've had in a decade." - Larry the Lionhearted from Stuttgart Feedback Montefioralle Photo - Tuscany: Florence to Siena: Beautiful image of Montefioralle from Lyndall and Michael from Sydney   Not sure which Scottish long distance walk to choose?  Some advice from the Quinns from Buckinghamshire might help: “We found the Great Glen Way very different from the West Highland Way which we did last year....  The Great Glen Way is classed as less strenuous than the WHW, probably because a lot of the walking is flat. We actually found this tougher especially the first day where the majority of the walk is alongside the Caledonian Canal. A hard surface that is quite tough on the feet. The days in between the first and last were more varied including some lovely forest trails with stunning views of the lochs; eagles flying overhead and fighter jets practising low flying over the lochs - Wow! .... All in all we found this tougher than the WHW as we find varied terrain more challenging, enjoyable and suited to our style rather than long stretches of flat walking but I'm still glad we did it.” - The Quinns from Buckinghamshire Feedback Devil's staircase (2)The delights of the West Highland Way in May!: Special Mention to the McCallisters who, despite the unpredictable (understatement?!) May weather, said they had a superb time, and "are busy telling folks what a great experience we had". Thanks to all our reviewers for their invaluable feedback.
