Self Guided Walking Holidays & Cycling Holidays

Areas of expertise: Developing Adventures Around the World

I grew up in the English Lake District and always enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, exploring the fells and the valleys. My Dad is from Scotland, so it was a place we visited often for family holidays as I grew up and is now somewhere I know and love too. Outside of Scotland, my parents were keen travellers and we spent many happy times holidaying throughout Europe, driving to Scandinavia on occasion, so I caught the travel bug early in life.

This interest in travel and the outdoors helped propel me into a career in the adventure travel world. I have found organising holidays for people a rewarding occupation! I've been to some wild and beautiful places around the world myself including Pakistan, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, Tanzania, Burma and Nepal. I've also travelled widely in Europe, spending time in France as an exchange student when I was younger. My French is rusty now, but I love to "parlez francais" when I get the chance!

I've been a keen yoga practitioner for many years and for the last 2 years have been a yoga teacher. I love making other people feel better about their lives and have learned so much from my students. A personal highlight has been practicing yoga in India – in Rishikesh and Kerala – mixing two of my passions, travel and yoga.

I also love hanging out with my nearest and dearest, and always enjoy travelling with my partner and my son. Some of the fondest memories I have are of family holidays, whether that was in Oban or Marrakech!
