Walking Holidays in the Channel Islands & Isle of Wight

Channel Islands & Isle of Wight

Highlights
  • The unspoiled bays of Shanklin, Sandown & Freshwater Bay on the Isle of Wight
  • Discover the Jersey War Tunnels, a spooky, yet captivating WWII museum
  • Pretty ports & shaded lanes with hedges of wildflowers
  • Explore the car-free island of Sark, where time appears to stands till
  • Walk along endless sandy beaches on Jersey and Guernsey
  • Taste fresh fruit from the gardens at one of the islands many ’Honesty Stalls’

Escape to the Channel Islands for a surprisingly different walking experience close to home. Walk along quiet clifftop paths, enjoy the lingering scent of subtropical plants, and discover the rich bird population of the islands. Listen to the quirky local dialect and enjoy relaxing picnics on white sandy beaches. These unique islands are “not quite Britain and not quite France,” as described by Lonely Planet.

Jersey is situated in the English Channel, closer to France than England. The sunny island has an interesting history, a unique fusion of cultures and plenty of dramatic coastal walks. What better way to experience it all than walking around the entire 48-mile coastline?

Walking on Guernsey changes with the seasons. Springtime is a delight when the ancient woodland is sprinkled with bluebells and summer is a riot of colour with exotic flowers in full bloom — around every corner, you are greeted with a different view.

Although the Isle of Wight does not technically belong to the Channel Islands, it does lie in the English Channel. With its close proximity to the South Coast of England, this walker’s paradise is only a short ferry journey away!
