The Speyside Way walking holiday, and our adapted Speyside Whisky Trails trips, are the perfect way to discover Speyside. This well way-marked 107 km (67 mile) trail is a great introduction to long-distance walking. Follow well-made paths through woodland on easy-going terrain as you trace the River Spey from Buckie on the coast of the North Sea inland to the town of Aviemore in the Cairngorm National Park.

As you make your way south-west from Buckie towards Aviemore you cannot fail to be impressed by the fantastic landscape in this whisky distilling region of North East Scotland. Begin in Buckie, a wee fishing port on the coast of the Moray Firth, from Buckie you'll follow the trail into the north easy Highlands and into the heart of whisky country. Make worthwhile detours to the famous distilleries of Glenfiddich and Ballindalloch. Why not take a tour and sample a dram or two of the region's liquid gold? Pass through Grantown-on-Spey, with its smokehouse, to arrive in Aviemore at the base of Cairngorm mountain. The Independent Newspaper in Britain published a great article on 5 ways to enjoy a dram, suggesting "drambling" (what a wonderful name for the concept!) on the Speyside Whisky Trail with Macs Adventure.
